<p>The 2022-23 boys basketball season starts all across the state and today let's take a quick look at the 2A level with our pre-season top five and the projected All-State Team.</p>

<p><strong>Pre-Season Top Five</strong></p>

<p>1. Salem Academy<br>2. Western Christian<br>3. Regis<br>4. East Linn Christian<br>5. Mannahouse Christian</p>

<p>Analysis: Salem Academy appears to be class of 2A as they bring back the most firepower, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1382424' first='Jackson' last='Oglesby'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1738610' first='Jaren' last='Oglesby']. Defending champs Western Christian features the current dean of all head coaches in the state, Gary Hull, who has quite a bit of production to replace but the program always seems to get it done and at a high level. Regis has some star power with [player_tooltip player_id='1604665' first='Isaiah' last='Koehnke'] and incoming transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1545444' first='Diego' last='Aguilar'], and East Linn and Mannahouse Christian both return a lot of productive players from last season.</p>

<p>Analysis: Altman really turned heads this summer playing against top-level competition on the AAU circuit and is primed to have an explosive senior campaign. Rothenberger and Aguilar are returning first team honorees from last season, although Aguilar has changed schools from Regis from Jefferson. Ledbetter was a second team honoree last season while King was third.</p>
