Moore came out like a man on a mission for the Eagles, as he scored ten points in the first quarter setting the tone for his team. Never missing a three-pointer Saturday, five three-pointers fell for Moore Finishing with 23 points on 7 for 10 shooting from the field. A player with a quick twitch, that also finds unique ways to his spots. He can score at all three levels and he mentally continues to improve on the court. Yohance Connor Yohance Connor 6'3" | CG Combine Academy | 2026 State NC (1 of 1 Academy) 2026
Arguably the best freshman in the State, Yohance did not back down from a talented Combine team on Saturday. His team pushed the Goats to the limit in a 62-58 defeat this past Saturday. But Connor is an impressive defender at his age, he does not back down. He is not scared of the big moment and has some active energy on Both ends, he is the motor this team runs off of. 14 points and seven rebounds, paired with a cutback slam late in the second half woke everyone up in the gym that Connor was foreal.
Kyrell Shaw Kyrell Shaw 6'4" | SG Northside Christian Academy | 2024 State NC (Northside Christian Academy) 2024
Shaw had a very efficient game on Saturday against Northwood Temple Academy. He shot 75% from behind the arc, he scored 18 points in total on 64% shooting. A kid that has a really good feel, could elevate this team into State playoff contention. Shaw must play to this level for that to happen, he is active on both sides of the ball. A lot of his offense was created by the way he defended as well. He has a knack for the ball and is always in the mix for rebounds even if he does not come down with it. His wingspan makes it dfficult to box the junior out .
Sean Birmingham Sean Birmingham 6'8" | CG Concord Academy | 2024 State #215 Nation NC (Cannon High School)2024
Standing at 6’8″, Birmingham has impressed early on in the season. The lefty has above-average ball handling skill for his size and can show his impact on both sides of the court as well to hit mid-range jumpers. His defense will continue to improve and his shooting. Birmingham will see a lot more attention coming his way as he will find opportunities to be the third scoring option.
Cannon Keziah Cannon Keziah 6'1" | CG Northwood Temple Academy | 2023 State NC (Northwood Temple) 2023
Keziah was one of the best shooters from the weekend, he and John Butler tried to fight and keep his teaming it against a competitive Northside team that had more talent. That did not discourage Cannon from scoring 23 points Saturday, he was active defensively as well. He is a player with ‘in the gym,’ range. If he is shooting get a hand up for it may be going in. He finished the game with six assists, he did everything he could to bring his guys back. I know this is not the last we will be hearing from Cannon as well.
