To preview the upcoming high school basketball season, Prep Hoops Wisconsin takes a look at some of the top passers in the state:

[player_tooltip player_id='1200581' first='Elijah' last='Meerstein'] -- PG -- New Lutheran

You don't see too many prospects at the high school level tally up assist numbers like Meerstein does. Last season at New Lutheran, the point guard was able to put up 8.5 assists per contest. I love how Meerstein plays the game. If you like watching mistake-free basketball, then you are really going to enjoy watching Meerstein. The point guard always makes the right play. He has a very good feel for the game, as he does a great job of locating open teammates.

T.J. Lamb -- PG -- Almond-Bancroft

Lamb might be the favorite to take home Wisconsin's assist crown this winter. Coming off a season in which he averaged eight assists per game, Lamb is a prospect who is poised to take a big leap. Even though he is a younger player, Lamb doesn't let his youth limit him. The point guard plays with a lot of confidence and swagger. Keep an eye out for Lamb this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598970' first='Jacob' last='Christjohn'] -- G -- Cudahy

Playing with 100 percent effort at all times is a good idea in theory. But many high school prospects fail to reach this goal. They take possessions off or fail to make the extra effort. Christjohn is one of the few players at the high school level who always plays with full effort. He is tough as nails and always plays extremely hard. The guard isn't just a grinder, though. He is also really skilled. Christjohn is a smart prospect who can rack up assists in a hurry.

[player_tooltip player_id='963147' first='Austin' last='Herro'] -- CG -- Whitnall

Because he has dealt with injuries for a solid portion of his college career, I don't think that Herro has been able to show off his full potential. But when the combo guard has been able to play, he has looked really good. Herro is just such a smooth player. Everything he does on the court looks so effortless. As a passer, the CG can dish out some flashy dimes. He owns great court vision, which he uses to find open teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1289064' first='Elijah' last='Griffin'] -- PG -- Westosha Central

Griffin was one of my favorite prospects to watch this past AAU season. While playing for a top squad in Wisconsin Playground Club, I thought that the point guard was able to show a lot of potential. Because he played with many other talented prospects, Griffin took over a role as a facilitator. And this was a role that Griffin thrived in. He was never selfish with the ball in his hands and always looked to get others involved.

[player_tooltip player_id='981149' first='Braden' last='McGlothlin'] -- PG -- Catholic Memorial

There weren't many guards who were able to raise their stock like McGlothlin did this summer. The point guard was able to really impress. As a floor general, McGlothlin is elite. He handles the ball well, scores when the opportunity presents, and knows how to get his teammates shots. One of the signs of a great player is when they make everyone around them better. McGlothlin no doubt makes his teammates better.
