Continue ReadingI did a couple of these over the summer and have decided to do some more now that the high school basketball season is closing in. I reached out to some players within the 2023 class and asked them 5 questions about their summers, the upcoming season, and their recruiting.
How do you think your off-season went? What are you most looking forward to this season?rn-I’ve had the most productive off-season of my playing career so far. I put on 15 pounds from 170 to 185, and my skill work has been the most dialed in it has ever been. I’ve taken the biggest leap in my game that I have experienced yet, so that should be exiting. In terms of what I look forward to i’m honestly just exited to get closer with my guys, looking past basketball our team has a special bond with each other, we’re a big family and that has been the most securing privilege to have on this team. At this point before season, I’m not even worried about winning or losing, the season will play out how it is supposed to but my team is much bigger than basketball.
What are some things that stand out about your game? Things that coaches can see and know you excel atrn-I think my quickness and my ability to score at all 3 levels is my biggest strength, while also being a really good defender 1-5. But I think when coaches watch me play they just see a dude who works extremely hard, and knows how to win games, I pride myself on doing the little things that I think make a difference for a team in a competitive game.
What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?rn-Beyond high school I’m just look for the right environment that suits me, and will push me to become a better student, athlete, and person in general.
Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?
-I have been in contact with a lot of D3 schools and naia schools over the summer. Western Washington is recruiting me right now and I think that is where I will end up.
What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?rn-I want to improve on my playmaking ability first and foremost, I’m always going to be sharpening my handle and shot but I want the game to really slow down for me, and I want to be able to win games by making my teammates better instead of just executing my job only.
How do you think your off-season went? What are you most looking forward to this season?rn-I feel my off season went pretty well , these past few months been a lot of strength an conditioning an jus sticking to the script of grind. What I’ll be looking forward to this season is winning an also leading the team to get what we work for
What are some things that stand out about your game? Things that coaches can see and know you excel atrn-My standout game is being able to get to the rim at any given moment an being crafty with the ball to make defenders shift to either get myself or a teammate open
What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?rn-I am looking for a school that’s wants me an that’s a great fit for me an my family also that would be a great school to further my education
Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?rn-I’ve been in contact with SeattleU , CWU, Alaska Fairbanks , Portland state , and Washington State.
What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?rn-What I would like to work towards to improve my game on is guarding opponent 94 feet and staying active on ball defensively
How do you think your off-season went? What are you most looking forward to this season?rn-I think was very successful, I was able to showcase all of the things had working throughout the season and off season. I’m looking to come in to a bigger at Garfield, and be able to play towards a state championship with my teammates
What are some things that stand out about your game? Things that coaches can see and know you excel atrn-I am a very efficient shooter, especially from behind the arc. I am also a great rebounder and hustle my butt off! An underrated aspect of my game is my vision, I look all my teammates involved, and just make the right basketball play.
What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?rn-I want to go to a school/program where I can a good education and find success on the basketball court.
Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?rn-I have been in contact with some schools. Point Loma, Montana state, eastern Washington, cal poly Pomona, western Washington.
What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?rn-I want become a better post player, and I think with I want to become stronger and more athletic.
Highlights
How do you think your off-season went? What are you most looking forward to this season?rn-My off season went well I worked a lot on strength and conditioning training building my frame for the next level, and daily skill workouts 3-4 times a day maintaining consistency.
What are you looking for in a school beyond Prep school?rn-I’m mostly looking forward to competing against the top notch competition, and competing against some of the top talent in the country and proving why I should be listed in the category as a top 100 player in the country.
What are some things that stand out about your game? Things that coaches can see and know you excel atrn-I would say what stands out most about my game is my ability to play multiple positions and guard multiple positions. I have very good court vision in the half court and in full court transition, setting my teammates up for success. I’m very versatile, and can play in the perimeter and post up and can guard 1-5. I’m very physical going to the rim and have a high motor that catches a lot of coaches attention. My jumper has came a long way, but still improving but I’m looking to display it this season and show everyone I can score at three levels at a high efficient level.
Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?rn-What I’m looking for beyond prep school ball is the lessons and discipline that comes along with it, that I can apply later down the road in life, which will help me as a young man and leader in my community.

What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?rn-What I want to improve most on my game for the next level, is my athleticism, I would say I’m a good athlete but the level I want to go, I need and want to be a freak athlete on both sides of the ball. I would also say making my jump shot even more efficient, and really just leveling up a notch on my overall game. There’s nothing you can’t continue to improve so that’s what imma continue to do, and that’s getting better.
