Then on Saturday, I went to Pickerington North’s scrimmages where I saw Emmanuel Christian, Africentric again, Olentangy Orange, Canton McKinley, Pickerington North, and Gilmour Academy. This article will talk about the top upperclassmen from this very talented packed weekend.
Elijah Hughes
McCollum impressed me in both of the games I saw him play on Saturday for Orange. He just kept it consistent. His very pretty and smooth jumper allowed him to knock down multiple threes. He didn’t just rely on his shooting ability for scoring though. Once he hit a couple he started finding his lanes to attack the rim. Had some very good finishes and strong takes.
Rose is returning to the division two runner-ups last year and on Saturday he seemed to have picked up right where he started. He was just confident and consistently putting points on the board. Very good catch-and-shoot three-point jump shot. He is really good at getting to the rim often. He finishes very well and carves through the defense. He plays for a great ball moment team and he does not slack in that department at all either. Making the right plays when the ball is in his hand.
I’ve been a big fan of Steele’s for a while now. This 6’4 wing/forward plays the game very hard and has some great athletic ability. He shows some really good post-moves from time to time. He doesn’t shoot it much but when he does he hits tough shots. Makes very good offensive moves.

Dunn is the senior point guard leader for New Albany and he did exactly what you would want your senior, point guard, and leader of your team to do for your team on Friday. He is a short and stockier guard. He has a very impressive ability to finish for his size. He attacked the defensive pressure very well all game long. Made the defense pay for pressuring him.
Geremiah Thompson

I like what I saw out of Thompson. He has some things you can’t teach and that is size and athleticism. He is a very big and strong player that moves very well. Good when he is attacking the basket. Wish he would have done it a couple more times. Showed the ability to finish around the rim well.
