Carvers Bay Bear Jam

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Hoops every year heads out to the Choppee Community of Georgetown County to take in the Bear Jam at Carvers Bay HS for one day. This typically means the start of the basketball season is around the corner. What were some observations we saw from the Bear Jam today? </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hannah-Pamplico HS lost 10 seniors off last year's squad. The Red Raiders will rely on a few seniors this year to provide some leadership. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1665772' first='Taeshaun' last='Sellers']</strong> an undersized post player will play in the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl in Myrtle Beach on December 10, 2022. <strong>James Davis</strong> a left-handed water-bug point guard can really change speeds well and get the ball into the paint. <strong>Joshua McNeil </strong>a left-handed shooting guard has a nice stroke and a good frame. Carr blocked a handful of shots on the defensive end and really went to work down low on the block at times.<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='1334941' first='Jake' last='Wight']</strong> is a very deceptive athlete who at times likes to get the ball downhill. Sindab has a knack to score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor while Davis at times just brings hustle and opportunities. Livingston a left-handed guard played Quarterback this fall on the football team. Syree can post up smaller players or go to work around the cup at times. He really likes to get the ball downhill to the basket at times. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Lake City HS Panthers have a new man in the middle this season in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1220036' first='Amare' last='Adams']</strong>. Adams is a space eater with a great set of mitts. He really likes to mix it up down low in the paint and shows the ability to finish at a high level. Amare has already received Power 5 Football interest. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1173994' first='Mykel' last='Croker'] </strong>is back to run the show from out top for the Panthers while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1356316' first='Karon' last='Brown']</strong> plays the other forward position. Brown is a long and rangy forward who brings great activity to the floor. Karon has a great wingspan and ability to alter and change shots on the defensive end. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Waccamaw HS Warriors will rely on a few seniors this year to guide the way. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1465763' first='Maverick' last='Ward']</strong> and<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='1261875' first='Xander' last='Fairbanks']</strong> will be two key members of Head Coach Mike Quinn's plans moving forward. Ward likes to play on the perimeter and shows to have a good skill set. The Bruins were led today by<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='1156890' first='Jamarie' last='Brown']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1149788' first='Jackson' last='Robinson']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1665797' first='Joseph' last='McMillian']</strong>. Brown was able to score the ball from all 3 levels today with his ability to pop off screens, hits the 3 ball and getting to the cup at ease at times. Robinson a long and rangy forward looks to be back healthy after missing a lot of action this summer. McMillian was the big surprise here today. Joseph plays the game with a big-time motor and some serious explosiveness to the cup. McMillian is a great transition guy who really excels in the up-tempo style of play. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
