AJ Howze of Anoka (6’4 junior wing). AJ Howze is a legit prospect. At 6’4 and incredibly long, Howze has the type of explosive bounce that few prospects have. It allows him to get off the floor for blocks and contests, he snatches rebounds while others are getting in position to maybe grab the ball, and Howze has an aggressive dunking finish that few can match. He is energetic, AJ scored 13 points a game last year, and with increased skill work this young man can be a really nice 2024 prospect.
Jacob Heman of New Prague (6’3 senior wing). First of all, if you ever look up Jacob Heman on google for some extra information, all you find is He-Man the cartoon. But at times I though Heman was a He-Man for New Prague who played much better yesterday than I expected (vs GSL and Breck). Heman is the top returning scorer, rebounder, and all around player for the Trojans.
Sawyer Kaczmarek Sawyer Kaczmarek 6'0" | PG Glencoe-Silver Lake | 2023 State MN of Glencoe-Silver Lake (6’0 senior guard). When I saw #4 in GSL with dark hair hit some jumpers I went to the Breakdown book and what do you know…. number four of GSL scored double points per game last year using a very quick attack dribble. And the photo there, Sawyer! Kaczmarek hit for double digits yesterday but his biggest moment was an overtime three made in the corner that gave his team the walk-off win over New Prague.
Reagan Reeder Reagan Reeder 6'5" | PF Anoka | 2023 State MN of Anoka (6’5 senior forward). Reeder will be the Anoka big this season and he’s a combination skilled stretch forward with a big body that can do things around the rim. Reeder is a good rebounder but his lift to dunk and block shots really caught me off guard. He also had a top of the key face-up attack that was key for the win. Reeder is an Illinois baseball commit so nothing to chat on hoops prospect future wise but he will greatly help this Anoka team this winter.
Grant Ackerson of Fergus Falls (5’10 senior point guard). This is a submission from another location’s site director but it’ worth as Grant’s defense was so good that it had refs and on-lookers talking. We might need to throw him out there as a top defender in Northern Minnesota. Good shooter and he handles too and that is getting better, but what a defender!
