Arizona Top 250 Expo: 2024 Newcomers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday I attended the&nbsp;<em>Prep Hoops</em>&nbsp;<strong>Arizona Top 250 Expo</strong>&nbsp;at Inspire Courts in Gilbert. AZ</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There were around 80 players who attended the camp from the 2023-2026 classes. Most players were from AZ but we had one from Cali, two from New Mexico and shockingly one from Maine looking for good competition.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>Here were the 2024 Newcomers:</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1598443' first='Heesung' last='An']</strong> <strong>Trivium Prep</strong> <strong>(Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A versatile wing forward was a pleasant surprise. He did a little bit of everything. He talks on defense and always seems to be in the right spot. He is physical on the ball and will rebound in his area. He can score in the post with hook shots. drive through traffic with a nice handle and shoot the three. He should have a big year in 2A. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633021' first='Braylen' last='Singleton']</strong> <strong>Chandler </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A good sized combo guard has a nice first step to burst by his defenders for layups. He can post up with his left or right hand and will score through contact. He is a smart passer who will move the ball and he can euro step his way to score. He uses his length in the passing lanes to collect steals. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633031' first='Ezra' last='Jacobs'] Leading Edge Academy </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the tougher guards in attendance. He will defend his man with his strength and is looking to get downhill with his shifty handle and frame. He can blow by his defenders with a nice first step to get into the lane and finish off contested shots among the post players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633025' first='Connor' last='Lamont']</strong> <strong>Williamsfield</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A versatile wing forward who can score from inside and out. He can blow by his defenders and finish off layups and will fight for rebounds and score on put backs. He is a fluid ball handler and consistently makes extra passes and will drive and kick it. He runs the lane and can score on euro steps plus he can shoot it. His IQ jumps out at you and seems to always make the correct decision. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633055' first='Will' last='Clark']</strong> <strong>Thunderbird </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A thicker power forward brings a physical presence to the court. He rebounds in bunches throwing his body in the fire. He is mostly and inside scorer and scores through contact but he can pull-up from the three. He is also a smart passer and will block shots. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633016' first='Aidan' last='Rampley']</strong> <strong>Thunderbird </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A skilled shooting guard is best off the catch three. He smartly moves without the ball to relocate and cuts when he should for layups. He fights inside for rebounds and is a good passer. A neck up type of guard can get rolling from the three. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1306030' first='Brandon' last='Polocoser']</strong> <strong>Greenway</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong framed small forward plays with a high motor and brings real energy to the court. He is a good on-ball defender and plays with toughness. He works best closest to the basket and can ball fake and shoot it from the perimeter or get to the rim.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633029' first='Ethan' last='Louis']</strong> <strong>Canyon View</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long scoring guard loves the catch three point shot. He is starting to evolve his pull-up from mid-range and uses his length in the passing lanes on defense. He runs the court and can score in transition. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633044' first='Kaleel' last='Johns']</strong> <strong>Sequoia Pathfinder </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long shooting guard makes his money on the defensive side. He can hit the catch three and has the floater game. He will move the ball and give up a good shot for a better one. He is working on his pull-up from mid-range and his activity on defense keeps him on the court. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
