2024 Rankings Update: Floor Generals

Gavin is good at making a quick move or two and then getting downhill where he is a good finisher who often uses his floater. He is good at changing paces to keep defenders on their toes. Gavin can score the ball which allows him to draw the eyes of the defense and then make dish-off passes to open teammates. Gavin will be looking to be "the guy" at Chaparral this year with most of the team graduating last year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1139982' first='Owen' last='Foster'] - Fairview</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1139982' first='Owen' last='Foster'] has improved his combo guard ability this spring and summer by playing more with the ball in his hands. Owen is a good shooter who can shoot off of the catch or dribble. He can create for himself with crafty handles and a smooth pull-up jumper off of the dribble. Owen improved his floor general ability and skills in setting up teammates for baskets. He scores both from three-point land and from the mid-range making him a tough shooter to guard.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1426513' first='Reilly' last='Guerra'] - Douglas County</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1426513' first='Reilly' last='Guerra'] is a guard who makes his living getting downhill to the rim. Reilly has a solid handle on the ball and can shake defenders with in-and-out dribbles. Near the rim, he is a crafty scorer who uses euro steps and post moves to score through traffic. Reilly does a good job of using his eyes and fakes to confuse the defense and then find an open teammate. He does a good job of pushing the pace and is an especially effective player in fastbreak scenarios.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1577975' first='Damarius' last='Taylor'] - Regis Jesuit</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1577975' first='Damarius' last='Taylor'] is a small bulky guard who plays with a chip on his shoulder. Damarius is an intense on-ball defender who uses good footspeed and physicality to keep opponents in front of him. On the offensive end, he has a tight handle on the ball and likes to make a quick crossover or two to get a defender out of position so he can attack the rim. At the rim, Damarius is good at creating contact to put defenders out of position and finish tough shots. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
