It's time to reveal our Preseason All-Senior Teams for 2022-2023. Here is a rundown of our picks from the Commonwealth.

FIRST TEAM

Preseason Player of the Year - [player_tooltip player_id='999616' first='DeShawn' last='Harris-Smith'] | guard | Paul VI

Harris-Smith's versatility unlocks endless possibilities for PVI. At 6'5” he is a powerhouse of a playmaker who will be an engine for the WCAC favorites.

[player_tooltip player_id='992528' first='Dennis' last='Parker'] Jr. | wing | John Marshall

The recent NC State commit has been the best player in Richmond over the past few years and was a catalyst to JM's state championship run while being named Class 2 Player of the Year last year. He's a two-way impact player who brings it on both ends and his mix of athleticism and playmaking ability makes him a mismatch nightmare.

[player_tooltip player_id='999617' first='Carter' last='Lang'] | center | St. Anne's Belfield

The Vanderbilt commit has been one of the most productive players in the state since he stepped on the floor as an eighth grader, and he leads perhaps STAB's best team they've had in the past decade. The 6'9” big man is a walking double-double with touch in the paint and the ability to step out as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='977592' first='Austin' last='Ball'] | wing | Miller School

The George Mason commit is coming off of a big summer where he showed he's an elite shooter and a big-time athlete as well. He leads a Miller School team that is the favorite in VISAA D2 this year, and with the confidence he has shown over the past 6 months you can tell he's ready for a big run.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115503' first='Greg' last='Jones'] | wing | Hayfield

Jones checks every box. He is a terrific leader and a winner. It was clear that omitting Jones from the first team would have been a mistake.

SECOND TEAM

[player_tooltip player_id='992530' first='Trevor' last='Smith'] | guard | Woodside

The University of Richmond commit has steadily grown into a leader over the past few years and he'll lead a stacked Woodside team who is in a state championship or bust type of year. He's quick with the ball in his hands, he makes tough shots from all three levels and he can sit down and guard the ball as well.

Curtis Blair | wing | Steward

The Liberty commit is one of the top scorers in the Richmond area and coming off a big summer where he exhibited his ability to score the ball in different ways. There aren't many who can make the number of difficult shots Blair does, especially in the midrange area, and when he gets it going he's very difficult to stop.

[player_tooltip player_id='999619' first='Yuri' last='Manns'] | guard | LC Bird

Coming off a breakout junior year where he was named First Team All-State and averaged close to 24 points per game, Manns could be one of the top scorers in the state this year. He's wired to go with deep range, and an excellent midrange game and he's filled out and become a more potent scorer around the rim too.

[player_tooltip player_id='999660' first='Dylan' last='Saunders'] | forward | Cave Spring

Saunders is coming off a productive summer that resulted in him declaring his commitment to play at FDU. We have high hopes for the Knights this season. Saunders should play an integral part in their success.

[player_tooltip player_id='999649' first='Etienne' last='Strothers'] | guard | Menchville

The Appalachian State commit is set to lead his talented Menchville team to a state tournament run and the way he's improved over the last few years was fun to watch. He's always been a talented scorer and distributor but he's grown into his body and gotten more athletic and he's learned how to make the game easier for himself.

THIRD TEAM

[player_tooltip player_id='962810' first='Gibraltar' last='Coleman'] | forward | Flint Hill

Coleman's combination of size and shooting gives Flint Hill a potent weapon both offensively and on the glass. The American commit will be a 20-10 threat each time he hits the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1159838' first='Evan' last='Ramsey'] | center | Abingdon

After leading Abingdon to a state championship appearance his sophomore year, Ramsey was hurt last year and didn't have the same impact. This year though he's part of a twin-tower scenario at Abingdon and with his size, touch and versatility there won't be many who can guard him in SWVA.

[player_tooltip player_id='999636' first='AJ' last='Clark'] | wing | Menchville

Clark is part of a Menchville backcourt that could be the best in public school basketball, and while he may not always put up crazy numbers on his balanced team his impact is unmeasurable. He's one of the top defenders in the state, he plays with great motor and his athletic abilities allow him to make plays others can't.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115504' first='Jayden' last='Harris'] | wing | Potomac

Potomac has sneaky talent this year, led by explosive wing [player_tooltip player_id='1115504' first='Jayden' last='Harris']. The smooth lefty swingman will be must-see TV as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='992531' first='John' last='St. Germain'] | guard | St. Anne's Belfield

St. Germain is the floor general for STAB's best team in years, and a lot of their success will hinge on his ability to run the show. He's an ambidextrous guard who can handle and pass with both hands, he has unbelievable feel and control of the game and he is a strong downhill attacker who can finish through contact.
