[player_tooltip player_id='1130920' first='Canin' last='Jefferson'] 6'0" Newman

Canin, was a Class 2A all-state selection last season. He led newman to the Division 3 state championship .He averaged over 15 points and 4 assist a game. He is a dynamic offensive player and also terrific at setting his teammates up for open shots. He is a good 3 point shooter and can score in the lane as well. He also is a good defender . He is a complete basketball player and will excel at the next level .Newman will be favored to win Division 3 again this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489583' first='Ajay' last='Tew'] 5'11" Jonesboro Hodge

Ajay. was a all-district performer in district 1-2A last season . He averaged over 10 points and 4 assist a game last year .Ajay is a terrific shooter from behind the arc and off the dribble. He led Jonesboro Hodge to a quarterfinal playoff run last season. He is primed to do it again and is a definite stock riser.

[player_tooltip player_id='1273298' first='Cade' last='Dardar'] 6'0" Ascension Episcopal

Cade, led his team to the playoffs last season. They lost in the 1st round last year. Cade is also a terrific shooter and passer. He is very smart basketball player who also excels on the football field at quarterback . I look for him to have a big senior season.

Tyler Martin Jr. 5'11" East Feliciana

Tyler,is another great point guard in class 2A. He is Mr. Clutch late in games . He is a good shooter and can finish in the lane on dribble drives. He is a good defender with his quickness .He is a leader and gets teammates involved. East Feliciana lost in the 1st round of the 2A playoffs last season. I look for them to make a deep run in the playoffs this year with the pairing of Martin and big man [player_tooltip player_id='1159181' first='Trey'dez' last='Green'] .

[player_tooltip player_id='1285348' first='Darrius' last='Vaughn'] 5'7" Saint Thomas Aquanis

I had the good fortune of watching him play multiple games last season. He plays bigger than his size . He is a tenacious defender and fantastic finisher in the paint. He runs Coach Andrews offense to a perfection. St.Thomas Aquanis lost in the state semi-finals to Newman and were tied at half . Darrius was a big reason why they almost pulled a upset in the semi-finals. He more than held is own against some of the top players in the state. Darrius is a definite stock riser in my book. St.Thomas Aquanis has a good nucleus of returning players and will be a team to watch this year.
