Liam really stood out to me with his shot creating ability on Saturday. He has solid size at the guard position and used that to his advantage when getting his shots off. He is very creative with the ways he gets to his spots and when he gets there it does not matter if the defender has a hand up because he was hitting them all game. He also caught defenders off guard with shooting the ball right away after receiving a pass. This was very effective and it was a go-to in his arsenal. He added a nice finish in transition as well, showing off his all around offensive skill set. Farniok got a lot of varsity minutes last season for a solid Minneapolis Southwest team. He will be leaned upon as the leading scorer for the Lakers this year and I believe that he will shine in this role.

Ryan was a standout on both sides of the ball on Saturday and made plays all over the court. At 6’4”, he moves extremely well and possesses elite athleticism. This allows him to make plays above the rim as he picked up some blocks and finished off a few dunks as well when I was able to watch him. Johnson has a polished offensive game and can do a little bit of everything when he has the ball in his hands. Lakeville South has a great group of upperclassmen this year and will be a team that will surprise a lot of people in the South Suburban Conference.

Wysocki was the most intriguing player I saw all day and blew me away with his physical attributes. He stands at 6’5” and was really impressive when he got to run in transition and on fast breaks. He did well handling the ball in these situations, as well as running along with a teammate and preparing himself to receive a pass and finish. He showed off his athleticism with multiple dunks, slamming them down with one or two hands. Shaun will suit up for Rochester Century this season and is the younger brother of Jaden Wysocki who is now at Minot State.

The Wayzata pipeline has been elite for the last few years and it looks to continue with their 2024 class. Drew was a standout in just about every facet of the game in the matchup I saw and was constantly making plays all over the floor. It seemed as if he made the right decision on every play and is an extremely high IQ player. This was evident with him being able to find the openings in the defense to put himself in great position to receive passes from teammates that ended with easy layups. He also showed off his range with a tough pull-up three-pointer, shooting right over his defender. I would not be surprised if Nepstad carved out a solid role for himself this season with a deep Trojan roster.

I had the opportunity to see Justin play once during the AAU season and I was very impressed with the performances he turned in. That has continued into the fall as he caught my eye once again. In the one game I watched, the 6’0” guard was one of the top scorers and he did it in diverse ways. He can drive towards the basket and finish over large defenders, he can extend his range out to beyond the three-point line and knock down shots from the perimeter, and also had a couple nice layups coming off of offensive rebounds. Courneya is an all around player who plays with a lot of intensity and seems to always make the right choices. He led Win-E-Mac in scoring last season, averaging over 28 points per game as a sophomore.
Anthony was a prospect I was not familiar with headed into the event but he really stood out to me in the minutes I saw him play. He was never the biggest player on the floor, but adds so much to the game with his different abilities. He impressed me most when he had the ball in his hands and was the main floor general for his team, as well as when he was creating shots for himself. He was very effective scoring the ball with pull-up jump shots, he would set these up with different crossovers and spins, making it difficult to predict his next move. He also had a fantastic finish at the rim in the first half, attacking the rim with no fear in transition. Knight will look to step into a much larger role at CDH this season as they lost the majority of their ball handling options from the year prior.
Henry turned in a great performance in the first game of the day. He looked extremely confident with the ball in hands and was making all the right plays in the matchup I saw. The Maple Grove junior impressed me most with his passing and his vision, as he was constantly finding teammates around the rim with some needle-threading passes. This resulted in some very easy baskets for his team and great chemistry among his teammates. Stang showed glimpses of what he can do scoring as well. He played AAU for the top 2024 Fury squad this past spring and was a key contributor.
