Isaiah Hamlet 6-7 Grand Rapids Catholic Central There is a LOT of talent in the GRCC program. If forced to pick, 2024 teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1223505' first='Carter' last='Meerman'] was my upper class MVP. Rinse repeat for this forward as far underclassmen. Hamlet really popped in the drill station portions of the camp. Simply put did not miss a shot all morning. And he wasn't just hot from deep. Did it in the mid range. Showed excellent off ball movement and lateral quickness in getting to his spots. Gets it off quickly and has a high release point. Easily finished above the rim and had some nice dunks. Engaged defensively and seemed like a good teammate. Speaking of teammates. I would be remiss if did not mention Jack Bowen. The 6-5 lefty also played well. While Catholic has boasted one of the better backcourts for a few years running. The future (see below as well) of this storied program might be in the front court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1440214' first='Kenny' last='Brooks'] 6-3 Garden City In field loaded with next level playmakers. Brooks might have had the best dribble drive game in the camp. Flashy and creative ball handler with a full arsenal of moves. A lethal step back with a reverse between the leg dribble appeared to be his go to. Varied his approach as well. Just as good driving it the left as he was to the right. But it wasn't all penetration all the time. Had a smooth and easy release from beyond the arc. Also had nice elevation in the mid range. Good athlete who excelled in transition. First time seeing this prospect and came away very impressed

[player_tooltip player_id='1616018' first='Drake' last='Koepke'] 6-1 Bellaire Representing one of the smallest school districts in the Lower Peninsula. Koepke showed that he has the game to compete with anyone. Lanky build let's him play taller than his listed height. Comes from a basketball family. Plays like a kid who grew around gyms. Fundamentally sound and plays under control. Moves well off the ball. Good footwork allows him to get into his shooting position quickly. Is a good enough ball handler to play the point. If he is done growing that might be his long term position. But for right now he is versatile two way wing. Key for him will be physical development and competition. Is active on the grassroots circuit which will be good for exposure. Adding strength and an inch or two could really open some coaches eyes. The Eagles should be a Division 4 program to watch in the next three years. Fellow 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1616017' first='Jayden' last='Hanson'] also played well on Sunday. Hanson is a bit bigger (6-4) and should form a nice inside/out duo.

Izaya Lathridge 6-4 Grand Rapids Catholic Central (pictured) I really enjoyed the Prep Hoops Freshmen Expo in late September. However at the expo. A West Michigan scout gave me heads up that one of the better 2026's in the region was not there. I was excited to see this name pop up on the camp list. And boy was that scout right in big way. With his height and athletic ability. I'm sure Lathridge simply physically dominates in his age group. However with Sunday's deep field. Lathridge showed a mature and advanced offensive game. Operated well in the mid range. Showed a soft touch on his shot with well well schooled form. Smooth ball handler who got to his spots easily. Not all finesse though. Was able to finish through contact and appeared comfortable banging down low.

[player_tooltip player_id='1444929' first='Cassius' last='Bont'] 6-0 Byron Center Usually freshmen guards playing up fit a physical profile. Slight and slim ball handling wizards who are just waiting for their growth spurt. That is not this prospect. Nothing about this player's game says class of 2026. Broad shouldered with good height. Fit right in with all of the older prospects. How should I put this nicely….. He was not scared of anything. Came to compete and get shots up. Vocal and engaged all day. Had extremely deep range from three and they went in often. Not just a gunner. Operated well in pick roll situations and found open teammates. The Byron Center program is loaded with jumping jack athletes. This young point guard might be an answer at that position. But if it doesn't pop this year. This is a prospect that will probably be heard from in the next four years.
