Arizona Top 250 Expo: 2025 Newcomers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday I attended the&nbsp;<em>Prep Hoops</em>&nbsp;<strong>Arizona Top 250 Expo</strong>&nbsp;at Inspire Courts in Gilbert. AZ</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There were around 80 players who attended the camp from the 2023-2026 classes. Most players were from AZ but we had one from Cali, two from New Mexico and shockingly one from Maine looking for good competition.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Here were the 2025 newcomers:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633037' first='Jesus' last='Pacheco']</strong> <strong>Buena (Pictured) </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long and lean wing has many talents to like. He is a very good shooter off the catch but has versatility to create his own shot from mid-range, gives hard ball fakes and is a quick second jumper to rebound for put backs. He will make the extra pass and just knows how to play. One of the big surprises of the camp. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633039' first='Joseph' last='Voorhees']</strong> <strong>Pusch Ridge Christian Academy</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A lefty scoring point guard has speed and is very elusive. He has deep three point range and loves the floater game. He is a smart passer and sees the court well. His first instinct is to score and he can go on his own runs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1542272' first='Michael' last='Payne']</strong> <strong>Sahuarita </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A tough and thicker framed lead guard with skill. He loves getting into the paint and will score though contact or get fouled. He can pull-up from mid to the three off the bounce and he made a few impressive full court passes up the court on a rope. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633022' first='Charles' last='Cobbs']</strong> <strong>Chandler </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring point guard with quickness and skill. He is a good passer and he uses his long arms and quick hands on defense. He can dart in the lane and score in traffic and he has range and confidence on his three point shot. He also has a shifty handle to create separation. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633024' first='Cole' last='Denny']</strong> <strong>Catalina Foothills</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A well built power forward with a strong frame plays very hard. He is an out of area rebounder with a nice touch on his shot. He can dribble drive and score through contact. He is a physical defender in the paint and will block shots in his area.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1633056' first='Xavier' last='Villa-Antone'] <strong>Chandler </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A high motored wing forward played harder then maybe anyone I viewed all day. He embraces playing defense and will block shots and be a physical defender on the ball. He is a smart player who works well out of the pick and roll game. He plays with a high IQ and makes many correct reads every game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1633048' first='Mason' last='Brambila']</strong> <strong>Bradshaw Mountain</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A sophomore who plays some inside and out. He moves without ball and will cut when he should. He likes scoring inside mostly but he can step outside and shoot it to the perimeter. He will fight inside to rebound and has good court awareness. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
