Here are some more of the standout players that I was able to observe.
Isaiah Hill Isaiah Hill 5'11" | PG Premier Prep Tucson | 2024 State AZ Pueblo
A lightning quick point guard dazzled on both offense and defense. On offense he’s so quick that defenders had to back up which set up a pretty left handed jumper and when they got to close he just blew by the them. On defense his hands were as quick as his feet. When the opposing guards got to relax, he picked their pockets clean. Should be a big season for Mr. Hill.

The well built transfer was good as advertised on this day. He is a good shooter with size who wasn’t afraid to mix it up inside. Jones knows how to use his body which helps him be a very good rebounder. He showed why he is one of the top prospects in the state in his class.

Kamai ran the show for the defending 5A State Champs as they look to begin a run at a repeat. His handle has gotten tighter and he’s beginning to show some true point guard skills. He hit jumpers when he needed to and found the hot hand or mismatches when they were there.
Mason Hunt

A bigger wing Hunt was a tough cover both of their games. Opponents didn’t know whether to put a smaller defender on him or someone his size. He just bullied smaller defenders and shot over the top of them. When he had a bigger player on him he just brought him out to the perimeter and went by them easily. Probably the top player in Northern AZ, Hunt will make plenty of noise this upcoming season.
Trey Curry PHH Black
Explosive is the first word that comes to mind when describing Curry. He was hard to keep out of the paint and shot the ball well enough outside for the defender to respect it. He also showed some potential as a lock down defender by drawing the opposing teams best player.

One of the better freshman in the state already looks like a veteran for DM. He showed an elite feel for the game. While he is already getting a reputation for his highlight dunks. I was most impressed with how he passed out of the double teams and let his offense come to him. It will be exciting to track his progress.
Andrew Camacho Andrew Camacho 6'1" | CG Peoria | 2023 State AZ Peoria (Featured Image)
Usually the smartest player on the court and it was no difference in these two games. He could easily score 30 or 40 if he wants to but he was consistently looking to keep his teammates involved. I can see him having numerous triple doubles this season. Should be a great senior season for Drew.
