Continue ReadingHarshman stole a lot of the show at the Saturday morning showcase. He plays well beyond his years and his IQ for a point guard is advanced. He’ll impact the game in many different ways. He has some length to him at 6’1 and he uses it well defensively, poking away steals and playing the passing lanes. His primary objective is rarely scoring the ball, although he can, and his court vision is off the charts. With all the weapons Annie Wright has on the roster, he’ll have plenty of players to set up.
Dubiel is ultra competitive and it stands out in his play at events like the Expo. Jaxon loves to attack the basket and is an excellent finisher in traffic. I saw him sore in for a couple blocks during the day as well, tip away passes, and he’s got upside as a catch-and-shoot guy. He’s primed for a key role in Mountlake Terrace this season after helping the Hawks to a 6th place finish at state.
A fundamentally sound shooter, Jackson Lusk Jackson Lusk 6’2″ | SG North Thurston | 2023 WA got hot during a few games at the Expo. He has a quick trigger release and he sets and shoots in a blur and moves well without the ball. His spatial awareness is on point, making great outlet passes up the court to keep the game flowing. He’s an all around smart guard who doesn’t make many mistakes on the floor.
Highlights
The 5-foot-11 shifty PG had some moments this weekend. Cardoza has a nice bag of dribble moves that he uses to break down defenders one-on-one or in P&R scenarios. He has a quick first step and he loves to pull up in the mid-range or take it all the way into the paint. He’ll seemingly be Ingraham’s go-to guy as a sophomore, and don’t be surprised if he’s on more radars as the season progresses.
Amari Harris

Another guard who caught my eye at the PH Top 250 was Amari Harris. He has a strong 6-foot-2 build and will surprise you with his athleticism. He’s a rhythm wing shooter and can light it up when he gets enough space from deep. He can slice into the lane and power past smaller guards using his strength and size advantage, and can be an impact player on D. The junior may be in for increased opportunity in Franklin’s backcourt in 22-23′.
