We know that Roselle Catholic is bursting at the seams with talent in their backcourt but what else does the hotbed of Jersey Basketball have to offer this winter? Today we look at some guards to watch in Union County.

[player_tooltip player_id='1153987' first='London' last='Carson'] | 6'4” | G| Elizabeth 2024

Carson went from role player to elite leader as the season went on for the state champion Minutemen. With graduation losses and the transfer of [player_tooltip player_id='1013067' first='Sebastian' last='Robinson'] to RC, Carson now drives the bus for Elizabeth. He had a great state tournament, specifically against East Side, Ridgewood and Marlboro, who he crushed for 21 in the state finals. Cleans up the glass as well. He's going to be expected to shoulder a big load for Elizabeth as they quest to repeat. D1 prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1153979' first='Jaden' last='Barnett'] |5'10” | G | Elizabeth 2024

Barnett is another 2024 guard who came up big at moments for the Minutemen. Primarily a bench player last year, he'll have an expanded role this season. A good ballhandler who can break down defenders and also facilitate. By the spring, we should be writing down some fantastic stat lines from him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1466430' first='Asher' last='Bradley'] | 5'11” | G | Oratory 2025

He came to Oratory with a bit of hype and certainly lived up to it. He is a quick guard who's effective in the half court and can facilitate. He had 13 vs Rutgers Prep and 10 vs RC, showing his potential. The future is bright for him and Oratory.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411643' first='Danny' last='Murray'] | 6'5” | G | Roselle Catholic 2025

Murray was offered by U-Mass without ever playing a game at RC. He's going to have a very high ceiling. A solid lefty who can score in multiple ways and can light it up from beyond the arc. While he didn't see much varsity time as a freshman, his job was to simply watch and learn. This season will be another "be patient" year for Murray with the incredible inbound transfer talent to Roselle Catholic but remember this name.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411621' first='Myles' last='Blackley'] , 6'3 SG Summit

Blackley is a lean guard who has a good jump shot and can hit shots with consistency from beyond the arc. He can also drive through contact and score at the rim. A good rebounder and a prospect who exploded on to the scene as a freshman. D1 schools are taking serious interest in him.
