Every year, transfers have become important pieces to basketball rosters at the Oregon high school basketball level and this year is no different. Now that school has started a number of them have become official. While there may possibly be some things to work out in terms of waivers, etc. we are fully expecting these to be the top transfers to watch in 2022-23 from the Class of 2023:

The Top Five

1 - [player_tooltip player_id='861078' first='Adrian' last='Mosley'], West Linn (ranked #2)

Arguably the biggest transfer at any class this off-season is Mosley, last season's PIL Player of the Year at Grant and First Team 6A All-State honoree. The 6-foot-2 do-it-all guard gives the Lions an instant #2 weapon alongside state POY [player_tooltip player_id='861091' first='Jackson' last='Shelstad'] giving them the top 1-2 offensive punch in the state. Mosley can score, pass, and will be a key rebounder for the somewhat undersized Lions as they chase a state title under new head coach Robert Key.

2 - [player_tooltip player_id='861092' first='Jalen' last='Childs'], Beaverton (#3)

Childs moves over to Beaverton from Sunset, where he led the Apollos in scoring, rebounding, and steals while earning First Team All-Metro League honors. The addition of the 6-foot-3 guard at the point will give Beavers head coach Andrew Vancil a plethora of scoring options. Childs can not only break down defenders off the dribble for himself but dish it out to one of many dangerous outside shooters, making Beaverton a favorite to return to state.

3 - [player_tooltip player_id='1232162' first='Christian' last='Green'], Jefferson (#13)

After former Cleveland head coach Dondrale headed over to Grant, a big question mark was what Warriors players would be staying or leaving. As it turns out, Green is the only one that has transferred and he'll be arriving in North Portland as a featured player for new/old head coach Pat Strickland. One of the state's most electric leapers used the off-season to diversify his offensive game and he will often have the ball in his hands with the Demos.

4 - Victor Raymond, Jefferson (#NR)

Perhaps the biggest transfer from out of state - both literally and figuratively - the 6-foot-7 Raymond comes to Jefferson with high expectations from Demos head coach Pat Strickland. He notes that the senior forward is an athletic player who "can do a little bit of everything" and could end up as one of the top big men in the state. He's currently unranked in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2023 rankings but you can bet he'll be added in the next update.

5 - [player_tooltip player_id='1096106' first='Marcus' last='McKinney'], Gresham (#22)

McKinney is a proven offensive player at the highest levels and should fit right in with the guard-heavy Gophers and new head coach [player_tooltip player_id='2427510' first='Corey' last='Lockhart']. The 6-foot guard can play any of the positions in the backcourt which will help give [player_tooltip player_id='861087' first='Esyah' last='Pippa-White'] additional relief at the point and the ability to shift over to score more.
