Tey Barbour Trending Up
Osbourn’s Tey Barbour, one of the hottest prospects of the summer, impressed in 37 minutes of action during his team’s 55-52 win over Chantilly. One of the things that stood out immediately was the transformation of his body. Barbour is leaner and more explosive than he was last season. The sharpshooting class of 2024 swingman looks ready to assume a leadership role for the Eagles this year. It’s no surprise that schools such as George Mason, Old Dominion, and Fordham have kept tabs on his progress.
Carmichael Excited About Chantilly
Coach Rodney Carmichael has been at Chantilly for a handful of seasons now. Prior to his team’s contest, he praised his 2024 class, and we liked what we saw from this group. Tyler Swindell was one of the team’s top performers. He is a versatile player who guards multiple positions and plays hard. Swindell is active and alert defensively. His length makes him disruptive on that end of the floor as well. One of Swindell’s best assets is his court vision. He is also a good mover without the ball who is available for dump-offs, has great hands, uses pump fakes effectively, and helps his team control the boards.
Robinson Brothers Form Exciting Duo
Kullen Robinson Kullen Robinson 6'2" | SG Alexandria City | 2023 State VA has transferred from West Springfield to Alexandria City, where he will team up with his younger brother, Kye Robinson. These two stood out during a comprehensive win over Virginia Academy. Kullen, a class of 2023 guard who has a knack for scoring, got to his spots from the in-between areas and made shots consistently throughout the evening. He mentioned Hood College as a school that has prioritized him in recruitment. Kye, a downhill-type lefty 2024 guard, is fearless. He is always hunting paint touches and never shying away from contact around the rim. Coach Tyrone Sally can expect a productive campaign from these two.
New-Look Highland Shows Promise
Coach Logan Miller did not have his full roster available for Thursday’s contest, but his group still put forth a solid outing. Newcomer Jeremiah Gorham Jeremiah Gorham 6'0" | PG Highland | 2025 State VA , who was previously at Saint James, brings experience, skill, and shot-making prowess to the backcourt. Chancellor Perkins Chancellor Perkins 6'2" | SG Highland | 2025 State VA , who arrived from Gar-Field, is a bigger guard who can also make shots at an efficient clip. The wild card of this group could be freshman forward Evan Brown. Brown has the tools to be a high-end long-term prospect down the road.
