For the rest of this week, we will take a look at each individual roster, breaking down this huge crop of talent from around the Pacific Northwest, player-by-player.
Here’s a look at Team Five:
Gylan Payne Gylan Payne 6'5" | CG Oregon City | 2025 State OR (2025 Oregon City)
An intriguing 2025 prospect, Payne is a gifted scorer, able to finish inside, hit mid range jumpers, and step outside for three-pointers as well. At 6-foot-2, the stud sophomore possesses great size and is a real threat from all three levels.
Axton Wongsomadi Axton Wongsomadi 6'1" | CG Century | 2023 State OR (2023 Century)
Wongsomadi plays smart and handles the ball well as a 6-foot-1 combo guard. With great form, the senior can shoot the three from deep in addition to finishing through contact inside.
Jullian Lopez (2024 Roseburg)
Lopez is a crafty point guard with good defensive instincts and a noticeable motor. At the expo, the junior consistently played hard.
Azure Mcnamara (2024 Ashland)
McNamara is a really intriguing player because of his ability to do practically anything on a basketball court. At 6-foot-4, he can guard one-through-five, make effective passes from the perimeter, finish around defenders inside, and even shoot the three. McNamara was also featured on our “Top Defenders” list.
Connor Oertel Connor Oertel 6'3" | SG West Salem | 2024 State OR (2024 West Salem)
Oertel is an effective shooter from all over the floor at 6-foot-3, providing timely buckets for Team Five throughout the day. In his final game of the day, Oertel hit a game-winning three at the buzzer to give his squad the win, earning him a spot on our “Top Shooters” list.
Mason Shank Mason Shank 6'2" | CG Beaverton | 2023 State OR (2023 Beaverton)
Shank plays with a lot of energy and makes deliberate moves toward the basket, allowing him to create favorable situations offensively. Additionally, the senior knocked in the occasional jump shot for Team Five.
Corbin Cichy Corbin Cichy 6'3" | SF Lake Oswego | 2025 State OR (2025 Lake Oswego)
Just a sophomore, Cichy is a fantastic shooter, burying multiple threes in multiple games throughout the expo. At 6-foot-3, the shooting guard possesses intriguing size for a guard, making him a sophomore to keep an eye on.
Jonas Spencer Jonas Spencer 6'5" | CG North Eugene | 2024 State OR (2024 North Eugene)
At the expo, Spencer impressed with his length and ability to get to the rim at 6-foot-5. For his size, Spencer can also handle the ball and see the floor well as a facilitator. With plenty of tools to expand his game, Spencer is an intriguing prospect.
Caden Dornhecker Caden Dornhecker 6'4" | SF Bend | 2023 State OR (2023 Bend)
Playing with high effort all day, Dornhecker was a notable presence on the boards. At 6-foot-4, the senior plays physical and is often rewarded inside.
Beya Kim Beya Kim 6'3" | SF Roosevelt | 2023 State OR (2023 Roosevelt)
Kim is an all-around stud that can score at will and do all the little things. In particular, Kim shines as an athlete, collecting rebounds and making explosive moves that landed him a spot on the “Top Athletes” list. In addition, Kim looked to prove he could hit the three at the expo, knocking in quite a few throughout the day.
Josiah Lake Josiah Lake 6'1" | PG Tualatin | 2023 State OR II (2023 Tualatin)
Lake may have been the most impressive player in the entire gym, displaying an elite level of shake off the dribble that no one could stop all day. While the senior could get to the rim at will, he also showed off his ability to shoot the three, dancing atop the key before firing over the defense on multiple occasions. Although not every shot was falling, Lake was practically unstoppable with the ball in his hands — he was also on the “All-Event Team.”
