The Prep Hoops Texas Top 250 Expo was loaded with talent. Prospects were given the opportunity to showcase their ability to shoot the three-ball, facilitate, defend, handle the rock, dunk, and hit the boards, and they were very impressive in doing so. While those things were great to see, I looked beyond them to see if I could find some prospects that influenced and changed the game through their play in some of those areas as well as others. Here are a few of the Texans that emerged as Top 250 Expo GameChangers…
Future Butler Bulldog, Finley Bizjack Finley Bizjack 6’5″ | CG Byron Nelson | 2023 State #131 Nation TX impacted each and every game in a significant way. Finley set the tone for his squad early on by being insanely unselfish while still getting buckets at a high rate. When I say this young man made the game easier and everyone around him better with his facilitating skills I mean it. Super smooth and crafty off the bounce, Bizjack didn’t force his offense at all and was still able to get to any spot on the court often for a dish out to an open teammate after drawing the defense’s attention. This highly skilled senior prospect showcased a remarkable ability to create for others on a consistent basis by always looking ahead and scanning the floor, finding openings and quickly moving the ball up the court with a purpose, displaying incredible court vision while throwing timely setup passes, producing a lot of assists before the defense had a chance to get back or stop the ball. When it came to scoring Bizjack made it look easy, appearing as a pure paint toucher and a natural tough shot maker. He couldn’t be contained in one-on-one situations and was quick blow by defenders and closeouts with an extremely explosive first step. On the perimeter, Finley Bizjack Finley Bizjack 6’5″ | CG Byron Nelson | 2023 State #131 Nation TX scorched the nets with his gorgeous shooting stroke off the catch as well as the pull-up. His efficiency on the offensive end changed the game for the better whenever he was on the court. Defensively, Finley’s high IQ and excellent understanding of the game made him a nightmare, he proved to be effective in every way possible and knew exactly when to contest, crash the boards, and when to take off for a fastbreak opportunity.

From the moment the ball was tipped-off, Lekendrick Taylor immediately caught my attention as an elite dunking athlete who continuously showed off his variety of dunks in the halfcourt and most of all, on fastbreaks. The 6-foot-8-inch prospect was such a lob threat that he threw down 3 slam dunks in the first 5 minutes of play. Taylor was by far the top lob threat in the showcase, his quickness off the ground combined with his vertical leap made him an absolute terror to contain whenever he navigated off the ball. He showed good controlled aggression on the floor, Taylor attacked rebounds in the air before flying down the court and punching tomahawk slams. Taylor’s ability to snag a defensive rebound and take it coast to coast was wildly impressive, he showed off a nice bag of dribbling moves and shot creation skills for a power forward. His dynamic dribble penetration capabilities made him a constant mismatch on the perimeter against opposing bigs and forwards. There’s something special about this kid, he really shows a threatening skillset as a combo wing-forward, not to mention his potential and versatility on both sides of the ball, displaying the ability to protect the rim and defend out on the perimeter on a play-to-play basis.

Long and wiry, 6-foot-7, Hunter Fitch Hunter Fitch 6’8″ | PF Mexia | 2024 State TX became a handful to deal with once he got hot. Fitch began hitting deep three-pointers from well beyond college range and showing off a mean one dribbler pull-up in the mid-range. He had no trouble creating a shot for himself from all three levels of the court, he ate defenders alive in isolation with his array of ball moves and finished the play off with a very fluid dribble pull-up shooting motion capped off with a high release point. Hunter Fitch Hunter Fitch 6’8″ | PF Mexia | 2024 State TX put on a show, he was one of the most exciting prospects to watch, he played with great confidence and even showed off some above-the-rim finishes in open space. This promising ballplayer has steadily improved his entire game from top to bottom over the past couple of years, his skillset has continued to grow, giving him elite versatility as a guard-forward type of player.

Playmaker extraordinaire who read the game at an elite level both offensively and defensively. Jayden Jones Jayden Jones 6’2″ | SG Tyler Legacy | 2025 TX produced the most amazing sequence of basketball when he received the ball down low on a post up and immediately dropped stepped and one-hand slammed dunk with the defender draped on top of him, he then sprinted down the floor for a chase down block which he pinned on the glass before running back down to the offensive end and drilling a deep three-point bomb. This was just one of many of Jayden’s highlight reel plays. Jones displayed top notch versatility playing both on and off the ball as a facilitator and a leading scorer. As a defender, Jones’ motor didn’t slow down one bit and his anticipation for the play proved to be well above average. His timing when blocking shots was impeccable, Jones never looked to slap the glass, in fact, he made sure to always get a hand on the ball while still keeping it in play, showing phenomenal hand eye coordination.
