Bryce Howson (5’8/PG)

Bryce was one of the smaller guards that had a big toolbox with a lot of tools in it. He was active off the bounce as he created for his teammates, showed a floater game, was a good passer, and played with amazing court awareness. He sees the floor well and kept all his teammates happy as he distributed the ball equally. Bryce plays like a coach on the floor and really excels at running the offense. As I said, he is small in stature but does a great job at the lead guard spot. He plays an unselfish game and is at his best when surrounded by shooters.

Zade was one of the best shooters at the camp, and he came in 2nd place in the 3-point contest. He is a lefty who shot the ball well in c&s opportunities during the games. He is a game-breaking shooter that cannot be left alone, not even for a moment. He struggled some off the bounce in the game I watched him play as defenders were really physical, which seemed to keep him off balance. Make no mistake about it, though, he was one of the most lethal shooters in the entire camp, and his presence alone around the arc spaces the floor and creates gaps for ball-handlers.

Jossiah Johnson (6’4/CG)

Jossiah won the dunk contest, which already gives you a look into JJ as an extremely athletic player. He is a high riser that plays above the rim with ease and is a force in the paint and near the cup. He has a good physical body, embraces contact, and finishes thru contact. He rebounded at a high rate, especially on the offensive end, as he kept possessions alive for his squad and even got some easy put-backs at times. He was limited after the dunk contest as he came up limping after one dunk. He is an explosive athlete worth keeping an eye on this upcoming season.

Jordan has good positional size and very good length at the small forward spot. He has a slim frame, but he was active on the glass and off the bounce. He’s got a deadly mid-range game and really knows how to get his shot. His handles are ok as he can break his man down with the dribble and get into the lane, where he rises up and hits difficult jumpers in traffic. His wingspan makes his production and efficiency in the paint a sure thing. Jordan can do a bit of everything on the court and impacts both ends of the floor, but one thing he has to improve on is his strength.

William is a post player that stands 6’4 which may be ok for now as he steps out of middle school onto the high school stage. He is really active and brought a lot of energy and effort to the floor. He runs the floor hard, moves well without the ball, and just made plays that contributed to winning possession after possession. He is a strong finisher off the bounce and out of the post, at the cup, and above the rim. He did not play as a traditional PF/C, which showed his versatility on both ends of the floor, and he showed his ability to adapt to any style of play he is in. He is a high-motor player that plays at a high level and is an anchoring force on any squad he finds himself on.

Mason has good positional size, which is ideal for his grade, and had a very solid performance at camp. He shot the ball well from deep and was a tough iso scorer off the bounce. He’s not the most twitchy player, but he’s got a good burst, a quick first step, and is a threat whenever the ball is in his hands, and he has his mind set on getting to the cup. I did not see much when it came to his perimeter shooting, but that is not to say that he cannot produce from the mid-range or behind the arc. He may be able to get it done; it’s just that he played to his strength at camp, utilizing his length and skillset to dominate off the bounce. He is another freshman that we are looking forward to seeing play this season.
