There were plenty of big time matchups, college coaches in attendance and a great atmosphere for preseason basketball.
We take a look at part two of some of the top seniors that were in attendance for session two.
If you want to watch the entire event, you can see it here.
Reuben McEachern | 5’11” PG | Carmel School
McEachern led his troops like we’ve become so accustomed to in the CBG series over the last few years and they were able to come away 2-0 on the day. He’s a natural leader who makes his team better and his team follows him through everything, he’s highly skilled as a playmaker who can touch the paint and make plays for his teammates and make them better, he’s a good defender with great instincts and he can score the ball efficiently from different levels.
Stacy Bird | 6’7” C | Carmel School
Bird is really starting to come along for Carmel School and the 6’7” big should start to see some colleges show interest with his long term upside. He ran the floor hard and attacked the glass on both ends of the floor, he worked hard to get good position in the paint and sealed defenders and finished around the rim efficiently and when he plays with a high motor he’s difficult to stop as a whole.
Christian Brown | 6’3” WG | Carmel School
Brown is one of the more underrated players in the Richmond area and has improved a lot over the past couple of years, and he was fantastic for Carmel this past weekend. The 6’3” wing is a strong athlete who brings it on both ends of the floor and is capable of locking down the other team’s best player, he shot the ball well from deep and he has improved a lot in his ability to create shots off the bounce for himself.
Cameron Taylor | 6’3” PF | TeamMe
Taylor may be a little bit undersized for his position but the Phoebus based forward was as productive as anyone in TeamMe’s two games on Sunday. He is a good athlete who plays with a high motor and gets after it on both ends of the floor, he crashed the glass hard for extra opportunities and ran the floor hard for some easy finishes and he’s very good at seeing open spaces and cutting hard to get open for buckets around the rim.
Dante Kearse | 6’5” F | Hargrave
Kearse transferred to Hargrave from Manchester in Chesterfield and what he brought to them at the Fall Series is exactly what they need with the departure of most of their front court from last year. The 6’5” hybrid forward is a super high energy and high motor player who gets after it on both ends of the floor, he plays much bigger in the paint as a rebounder and finisher than you’d expect and he’s a mismatch with his ability to take defenders onto the perimeter and take them off the bounce too.
Troy Giles | 6’0” PG | Hargrave
Giles transferred to Hargrave from Smithfield in the 757 and actually had to matchup against some of his former teammates in their second game, but that didn’t deter him and he showed he can run the show and make plays for this group. He’s a tough nosed guard who isn’t afraid to stick his nose in with the big guys on the defensive end, he plays with great pace and changes speeds and directions well and he makes great decisions with the ball in his hands and picks his spots to score it and make others better.
