The Fall Preview at Capital Christian High School in Sacramento, CA had plenty of local teams competing on Saturday. There was 25 high school teams, and a good number of NorCal Prospects who played well at this event. Here we have another group of players who we thought played well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1508056' first='Gavin' last='Hamill'] 6'3 2023 Guard of Vacaville HS

Hamill a solid guard who did a lot of good things on the court. He's strong, plays hard all the time. He handles well in transition, showing good vision, making the long strong pass up court. He used his body to take it strong to the basket to finish with either hand. He's a good rebounding guard, he hustles up court, and he can knock down the open 3.

[player_tooltip player_id='1574722' first='Gavin' last='Sykes'] 6'2 2025 Guard Capital Christian HS.

Sykes is starting to find his game as he looks more confident and sure of what he's doing on the court. Not a lot of hesitation, making good reads when he has the ball, or looking for his shot. He has a good skill set and can generate points in different ways, he used his dribble to turn the corner on defenders to get into the paint, he had a couple of nice spin moves to the basket. You'll have to account for the young prospect if he starts to knock down 3's consistently.

[player_tooltip player_id='1510781' first='Larry' last='Lewis'] 6'7 2024 Forward of Vacaville HS

He's a bit on the raw side but has a good upside with continued development. He's a growing body with room to add more muscle to his frame. He did most of his damage working from the high and low post areas, going up high and strong off two feet around the rim, making good use of the back board. He had good high post passing, with solid screens before heading to the rim for rebounds, and put backs. He'll defend hard, and go after blocks and rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1137233' first='Dante' last='Walls'] 6'3 2024 Guard of Laguna Creek HS

Walls is a big guard who can score in different ways. He brings the skills and the confidence a scorer needs to put points on the board. He showed he can use his dribble to create his own shot, and getting to his spots for pull-up jumpers. He knocks down 3's in the corner, and coming down in transition. He can handle the contact on drives into the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255846' first='Mitchell' last='Rawlins'] 6'7 2023 Forward of Folsom HS.

Rawlins looks like an improved prospect. He was active in and around the basket trying to dunk and score when the opportunity presented itself, he had a couple. He was aggressive going after offensive rebounds. His improved handles allowed him to handle a bit more in the open court, he was effective working from the high post with good passing and cutting to the basket.
