Tyler Koenig Tyler Koenig 6'9" | PF Pioneer Academy | 2023 State NJ | 6’9′ | F| DePaul
Koenig is a big man with great fundamental skillset. He’s got a soft touch and good footwork down low. An athletic big guy who can run the floor. He hit Lakeland for 25 and Paramus Catholic for 24 and also did a great job against top level competition, including a double-double(18&18) vs Teaneck.
Donovan McKoy Donovan McKoy 6'6" | SF St. Joseph (Mont.) | 2023 State NJ | 6’6” | F | St Joe’s Montvale
A two sport star with a football future, McKoy had a rock solid junior year. He’s a fantastic athlete and utilizes his explosiveness from the football field when he attacks the basket and gets at defenders—whom he can break down off the dribble or simply outmuscle down low. Multi-level scorer and a solid jump shot. He had 22 vs Wayne Valley and 20 vs DePaul. If he wanted to, McKoy could have been a scholarship basketball player too.
Jayden Holmes-Cotter Jayden Holmes-Cotter 6'6" | PF Freehold Township | 2023 State NJ | 6’7” | F | Freehold Twp
The best big man at the Shore this winter will most likely be Holmes- Cotter. He brings a ton of experience to the table, not to mention his expanded skillset and rock solid frame. Brian Golub has had some excellent players over his tenure but Cotter is among the best. He’s got athleticism but a high sporting IQ that allows him to dominate by playing within himself. He averaged 21&12 last year and is in place for a First Team All Shore and First Team All Group IV type of season.
Jordan Summers Jordan Summers 6'7" | PF Bound Brook | 2023 State NJ | 6’7” | F| Bound Brook
Summers had a superstar junior year for Anthony Melesurgo’s Crusaders. He’s got an incredibly high work rate at both ends of the floor. He’s got a motor. Tough to stop on the low block with solid footwork and soft hands around the rim. He’s got the shooter’s touch as well and hits the boards hard. He had 32 vs Franklin, though in the state tournament, RFH and Raritan were able to slow him down. His senior year is going to be a key period, especially to prove that he can consistently dominate in big games and in the playoffs—but he should be heavily recruited by scholarship programs.
Quatrell Wilson Quatrell Wilson 6'5" | SF Newark East Side | 2023 State NJ | 6’6” | F| Newark East Side
Wilson really came into his own as a junior for the Raiders. Co-Coaches Bryant Garvin and Anthony Tavares had a very young roster and Wilson was a leader for them. He’s quick, lean and can run the floor—A solid ballhandler for a wing too. He plays the trademark Jersey Defense and is a rugged rebounder. He had several noteworthy games as a junior, including 22 vs West Essex, 15 vs Irvington and 16 vs University. He’ll be one of the best frontcourt players in Essex County and will be impactful at the college level when a coach gets him into a collegiate weight program.
