It is the third week of the rankings update and this week we are taking the time this week to put out some coverage on the 2023's. With players raising their stock, dropping down, being added, and so much more, there is a lot to talk about based off of these rankings. Here, we a take a look at some of the highlights that stood out to me in this notebook.

Top 10 Gets Shaken Up:

Michigan State commit [player_tooltip player_id='868219' first='Xavier' last='Booker'] stays at the #1 spot. This is no shock as the elite power forward has been highly ranked in multiple platforms

Louisville commit [player_tooltip player_id='932764' first='Kaleb' last='Glenn'] comes in at #2. Glenn is one of the new additions into the state as he has transferred to La Lumiere from Louisville Male (KY).

Jumping up two spots to #3 is Purdue commit [player_tooltip player_id='868229' first='Myles' last='J. Colvin']. The big shooting guard is coming off an excellent summer.

Penn State commit [player_tooltip player_id='868255' first='Logan' last='Imes'] falls two spots to #4. May have fallen a few spots but Imes is easily one of the top guards and overall players in the state.

Recent UCF commit Joey Harts falls two spots to #5. May be the best pure shooter in the 2023 class. UCF got a steal with Hart.

Recent Vanderbilt commit [player_tooltip player_id='868224' first='JaQualon' last='Roberts'] moves up two spots to #6. This extremely athletic forward has looked better and better all summer and has really improved his outside game.

Another player that transferred into La Lumiere is 6'4 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1070092' first='Zaide' last='Lowery'] comes in at #7. He is from Springfield, MO and is committed to Marquette.

Belmont commit [player_tooltip player_id='1042491' first='Sam' last='Orme'] lands at the #8 spot. The lanky wing is expected to have a spectacular year at Carmel this season.

Jumping up eight spots into the top ten at #9 is Penn's [player_tooltip player_id='1049169' first='Markus' last='Burton']. Burton recently committed to Notre Dame.

Rounding out the top ten at #10 is [player_tooltip player_id='868259' first='Joey' last='Brown']. Brown is one of the best overall players in the 2023 class that yet to commit to anywhere.

Huge Additions:

[player_tooltip player_id='868218' first='Jalen' last='Hooks'] - 6'6 SF - Warren Central: He back! After spending all of last season at Donda Academy in California, Hooks is making his way back to the state of Indiana an will be transferring to Warren Central for his senior season. Hooks, originally from Indiana, spent his first two high school seasons at Crispus Attucks. He is an extremely talented forward and is being recruited at a high level. He lands at the #11 spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='787366' first='Trenton' last='Walters'] - 5'6 PG - La Lumiere: La Lumiere is stacking up with out of state transfers and Walters is one of them with this talented guard coming out of Texas. He lands at #24 in our rankings update and has easily been a stock-riser this past summer. Has offers from Monmouth, Radford, Lamar University, and more.

[player_tooltip player_id='1410467' first='Alex' last='Romack'] - 6'6 PF - Westfield: As far as in-state players, there was arguably no bigger stock riser than Romack. Plays with an incredible motor and put outstanding performance after outstanding performance this entire summer. His great play from this summer has him at #45 in our rankings. Expect a big high school season from him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1393266' first='Ollie' last='Sandman'] - 6'2 SG - Shelbyville: Sandman was a little bit of a unknown player but made a big splash this summer with EG10 2023. Has some excellent size at the wing and plays really aggressive. He was a standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit. He lands at #80.

Other Changes That Stand Out:

Indiana Swish makes a splash with multiple guys from that group in the top 200 as well as the watch list. Guys that made the top 200 include [player_tooltip player_id='1273030' first='Richard' last='Dube'], [player_tooltip player_id='868266' first='Connor' last='Hussong'], [player_tooltip player_id='1049192' first='Dawson' last='Hundley'], [player_tooltip player_id='1273006' first='Patrick' last='Schott'] and the watch list has [player_tooltip player_id='1306153' first='Michael' last='Johnson'] Jr., [player_tooltip player_id='1556368' first='Drew' last='Knapp'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1556366' first='Lucas' last='Mitchell'].

[player_tooltip player_id='1379216' first='Kamari' last='Jones'] makes the top 20 after having one of best summers a Indiana prospect could have. The whole state is starting to realize how much of a baller Jones is.

[player_tooltip player_id='868228' first='Jermaine' last='Coleman'], [player_tooltip player_id='868220' first='Ashton' last='Williamson'], and [player_tooltip player_id='935723' first='Anthony' last='Dancler'] all fall out of the top 10. All three are still well positioned in the top 15 and are all high level players.

[player_tooltip player_id='868242' first='Anthony' last='Ball'] and [player_tooltip player_id='868221' first='Nickens' last='Lemba'] fall out of the top 15 and into the 30's. Both are often compared to one another.

[player_tooltip player_id='1391283' first='Ahmere' last='Carson'] jumps up twenty-two spots to #23. Guy has been a bucket getter all summer.

Big man [player_tooltip player_id='1272428' first='David' last='Meriwether'] makes one of the biggest leaps to #25. Was originally at #80.

[player_tooltip player_id='1049176' first='Devon' last='Woods'], [player_tooltip player_id='814532' first='Brandon' last='Trilli'], [player_tooltip player_id='1049171' first='Dylan' last='Moles'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1042494' first='Luke' last='Almodovar'] all make leaps up as well.

Watch Out For These "Watch List" Players:

[player_tooltip player_id='1556368' first='Drew' last='Knapp'] - 6'4 SF - Bishop Chatard: Knapp is a bigger wing that was a consistent piece for Indiana Swish this summer. Really like his size at the wing and can shoot very well from behind the arc. Expect to see much more production from him this winter on Bishop Chatard. Could be their primary scorer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1236653' first='Aiden' last='Schmitz'] - 5'11 SG - Bloomington South: Schmitz is a shorter shooting guard that had some strong performances this summer. The motor and confidence that he plays with is a standout for sure and he a real sneaky high level three-point shooter. Another guy that will see an uptick in production this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1141050' first='Jay' last='Patterson'] - 6'3 SG - Taylor: Patterson is a bigger shooting guard that has a very balanced game. Was one of the best rebounders last year which is even more impressive considering he is not all that big. Does play with a lot of strength and physicality. An overlooked player for sure.

[player_tooltip player_id='1042500' first='Shayne' last='Spear'] - 6'3 SF - Kokomo: Spear is a guy that plays his role very well. Was a major part of Kokomo's success post season and was a guy you could rely on to make a play. He pairs up really well with Bidunga.
