Many great displays of offense and defense were in full effect, so let’s go ahead and take a look at some of the underclassmen who showed up and showed out when they were on the big stage.
Jordan Maddox- NSHTX Elite (Atascocita High School F, 2024)
Mr. Jordan Maddox closed out the tournament in big fashion on Sunday with a huge double against a tough 16u Texas Elite team. He was very active on the boards and also a huge presence on the offensive end who could just not be contained. Jordan finished with a whopping stat line of 21 points on 10/13 shooting and 12 rebounds, as well as 6 blocks and 5 assists. Jordan has a very bright future ahead of him at Atascocita High School as well in the AAU circuit.
Chacun Anderson- RL9 UA Rise ( Cy Woods High School G, 2025)
This young man was highly impressive in a must win game for the 15u RL9 UA Rise team against a very physical and tough Texas Takeover squad. He chipped in 22 points and shot 9/14 from the field, including 2/5 from beyond the arc. He was also crucial in crashing the class, securing 8 rebounds and being a facilitator for his teammates, also dishing the basketball for 5 assists. He was not afraid to get up in his matchup’s face and be intimidating, which was a very crucial aspect to securing the 46-38 win for his program. He is definitely on my prospects watchlist for underclassmen.
Kevin Sargeant Kevin Sargeant 6'4" | SF Fort Bend Marshall | 2025 TX – Mo City Ballers ( North Shore High School F, 2025)
Once the tip off started for Mo City Ballers against the Royal Players, it was clear that no one was up for the challenge of stopping Kevin Sargeant Kevin Sargeant 6'4" | SF Fort Bend Marshall | 2025 TX . The post man finished with an astounding 18 points on 7/8 shooting and also added 11 rebounds and 10 blocks. Sargeant also showed he is not selfish with the basketball and was never afraid to make the extra pass out to a teammate for an open shot. His team finished with a 52-49 victory over the Royal squad, thanks in large part to Kevin’s physical style of play. If he keeps up this physical style of play, opponents better take notice.
Dante Peters- Texas Takeover Smith (Cy Woods High School G, 2025)
Peters was an excellent facilitator of the offense for the highly talented Texas Takeover 15u team. He ran the pace well and was always making sure his teammates got good looks at the basket. He never had an attitude and always kept his head up, even in times of adversity. Dante finished with 11 points on 5/9 shooting and added 3 rebounds as well as an impressive 6 steals. He was also playing the role of a dimer, throwing 5 assists as well. This young man will have a bright future as a facilitator.
