Seck Zongo Seck Zongo 6'6" | SF Patrick | 2023 State NJ of the Patrick School is committed to Northern Illinois, leaving Blair Academy’s duo of David Luberoff David Luberoff 6'9" | PF Blair Academy | 2023 State NJ and Ian Imegwu Ian Imegwu 6'8" | PF Blair Academy | 2023 State NJ as the top ones still on the board.
The former is a solid shot-blocker as Luberoff uses his combination of size and length to swat shots around the basket. Luberoff has a nice touch around the basket and does not mind contact down low. He can also put the ball on the floor and knock down open jumpers from behind the arc.
Imegwu is comfortable playing on the perimeter as well as he has a nice release on his jumper and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. The 6’8 lefty can also score around the basket and is capable of finishing through contact. Imegwu is tough to box out on both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end.
Tyler Koenig Tyler Koenig 6'9" | PF Pioneer Academy | 2023 State NJ is one to watch as the DePaul Catholic forward knows how to play in the paint. The 6’9 forward has a good touch around the basket and uses his body to get position down low. Koenig is unafraid to mix it up down low and he rips down rebounds at both ends of the floor.
Jordan Summers Jordan Summers 6'7" | PF Bound Brook | 2023 State NJ ‘ stock has been rising all summer with his play during the live period as he can impact the offense in a variety of ways. The 6’7 forward is comfortable playing on the perimeter as he can put the ball on the floor and knock down jumpers from behind the arc. Summers can finish through traffic in the paint and sets solid screens in the half court. He is also a strong rebounder and is an underrated shot-blocker.
Darrius Phillips Darrius Phillips 6'7" | PF Seton Hall Prep | 2023 State NJ is a forward prospect to track in North Jersey as he does a little bit of everything. The 6’7 forward has a strong body which he uses to draw contact, create position down low and fight for rebounds on both ends of the ball. Phillips uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end and runs the floor hard.
The 2023 power forward class is full of intrigue and will be one to watch during the fall, winter and spring.
