Almost every young basketball player starts with the dream of playing in the NBA or playing somewhere professionally. So that leaves an interesting question – Of all the talent in the city of Detroit, which 10 players would you consider the most likely to play in the NBA someday. Here’s my top 10! Please comment with your Top 10 as well!

Eaton has the quickness and ball skills to play at a very high level. He can make plays off the bounce and that’s a talent that’s needed at all levels.

Blyden Jr. is going to create a lot of excitement in the state of Michigan over the next few years. He’s a very efficient shooter and all around scorer. Point guards that can set the pace and get buckets have a home at the highest of levels.

Banks can score and defend all over the floor and that’s something that’s needed on every team. He’s a well seasoned player that makes smart decisions and big plays. Banks can score off an offensive rebound, cutting to the rim, and with a jumper.

Lowry is a very seasoned all around athlete. His fluid movement seems natural and almost effortless. Lowry is crafty with the ball and can create looks at the rim for himself and his teammates.

McCoy has all the tools. He’s a very high IQ player that consistently makes the right decision both with the ball in his hands and off the ball. McCoy has the tough mind frame needed to be truly great.

Wedlow has the tools, that’s for sure. The intangibles like height, strength, and athleticism are there. He’s quickly improving his ball skills and his jumper, which combined with his activity around the rim and finishing ability, make a dangerous combo.

As easily as he’s number 4 on this list, he could be number one. Hey, he might be in a year or so. Stone has a feel for the game that goes well beyond the high school level. Honestly, he could be a great coach someday. His court vision and ability to hit a pinpoint pass are truly elite.

Lewless could VERY easily be number 1 on this list. He seems to have that “it” factor. He knows how to handle being a great player and he carries himself with dignity and class. Lewless is a tremendous physical talent, but his mental game could put him in the league someday.
Highlights

Wilson is one of the more explosive lead guards that you’ll see in the midwest. He can put up points when his team needs them the most. I really like the way he utilizes both his ball handling and down the court passing. Wilson continues a fast rate of improvement, showing that the sky could be the limit on his upside.
