Rankings will consist of how teams have faired this summer and who is expected to come back. We are aware that some teams have players playing multiple sports like football and even baseball as they travel and train this summer. We have seen teams with and without their guys.
6A
With a lot of graduation across the state it looks like 6A has a few teams that will be at the top most of the year regardless of how many losses they accumulate. Last seasons perfect example was American Fork as they played the toughest schedule in the state and got a low seed in the RPI. This season will likely be the same as AF will travel and play some really tough teams to prepare for another state championship run. They will be led by Ashton Wallace Ashton Wallace 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2023 State UT and Aaron Dunne Aaron Dunne 6'9" | C American Fork | 2023 State UT but we are very aware of the emergence of 6’7 SF Blake Rawson Blake Rawson 6'8" | SF American Fork | 2023 UT who has been a do it all player this summer. Tiger Cuff Tiger Cuff 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2024 State UT has also playing playing well and the Cavemen will likely have a deep bench again.
Cyprus has a roster full of talent led by Quentin Meza Quentin Meza 6'0" | PG Cyprus | 2023 State UT , Diego Mulford Diego Mulford 5'10" | PG American Fork | 2024 State UT and Justus Jackson-Fobbs Justus Jackson-Fobbs 6'6" | SF Cyprus | 2023 State UT who will be back after shoulder surgery in December.
Pleasant Grove is going to be tough regardless who is in their backcourt. Michael Mitton Michael Mitton 6'3" | CG Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT has had some moments this summer when he looks elite and Isaac Garrett Isaac Garrett 6'8" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT is a force in the paint. Then you add a player like Colby Dean Colby Dean 6'9" | C Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT who cleans things up around the rim.
Fremont looks like they could be an uptempo team as they are led by Hunter Hansen Hunter Hansen 6'4" | PG Fremont | 2024 State UT and company.
Bingham is down this year but you are seeing that there is strength in numbers as they now have a deep bench of players that play hard on both ends of the floor. Ace Reiser Ace Reiser 6'0" | PG Alta | 2024 State UT is one of the best PG’s in the state. Stockton Tueller has improved a lot and Carson Bagley Carson Bagley 6'0" | PG Bingham | 2023 State UT has really taken a leap as well. Defensively they have one of the best shot blockers in the state in 6’9 Brayden Whitehead Brayden Whitehead 6'10" | C Bingham | 2023 State UT .
Corner Canyon might be one of the scariest teams out there in 6A as the Brody Kozlowski Brody Kozlowski 6'8" | SF Corner Canyon | 2024 State #103 Nation UT has had himself a fantastic off-season with some excellent play. This kid is tough as nails and he has a calm presence and he never panics. Max Toombs Max Toombs 6'3" | CG Corner Canyon | 2023 State UT is solid and tough as he powers to the rim and Jaxson Roberts Jaxson Roberts 6'2" | PG Corner Canyon | 2023 State UT could be the key as a ball handler.
Layton is loaded with KJ Miller KJ Miller 6'3" | CG Layton | 2024 State UT , Mekhi Martin Mekhi Martin 6'2" | PG Layton | 2024 State UT and Brock Mendoza Brock Mendoza 6'9" | C Layton | 2023 State UT as they can play any style of play.
Weber will be fun to watch as they are led by the scoring machine of Hunter Schenck Hunter Schenck 6'2" | PG Weber | 2024 State UT .
Farmington will be interesting as they try to revamp after loosing one of the best players in the West. Look for Paul Beattie Paul Beattie 6'9" | PF Farmington | 2024 State UT to pick up a lot of slack.
Westlake will be tough as they have a system that has players fill their roles and they are good at it.
