Keaten Bonderson Keaten Bonderson 6'0" | PG Gehlen Catholic | 2023 State IA | Gehlen Catholic |
When I had the opportunity to catch Keaten this summer it was hard not to notice his athletic ability. He did a great job breaking through the press with his pace, and on defense, he did a great job of coming up with steals in the passing lanes. He does a great of getting to his spots and rising up for a pull-up jump shot. When he gets to the hoop he finishes nicely on either side.
Owen Larson Owen Larson 6'1" | PG Estherville Lincoln Central | 2024 State IA | ELC |
Owen was really impressive running the point and getting the team set up. He handled the pressure well and often showed off his ball-handling breaking through the press. He shoots the three at a high level spotting up or off the dribble. Larson often finds himself getting to the lane and getting an easy floater. He is a good defender who has quick hands coming up with tips and steals.
Keavian Hayes Keavian Hayes 6'2" | SG Sioux City West | 2023 State IA | Sioux City West |
Hayes is one of the stronger and more explosive guards in Northwest Iowa. He gets to the lane whenever he wants and has a bag of moves to help him finish on either side of the rim. On defense, he plays with a toughness that is hard to match. He can take advantage of smaller guards down on the block and finish easily. Keavian can shoot spotting up and off of the dribble.
Drake Derocher | Gehlen Catholic |
Drake is a lengthy guard who shoots it really well off the dribble, he likes to set his defender up and get to his spots and rise up. He plays well out of the pick and roll and likes to make the extra passes. I expect Drake to make a huge impact on his team this winter with a bigger role. He is a guard to pay attention to in the 2023 class.
Zach Hesse Zach Hesse 6'3" | SG Sioux City North | 2024 State IA | Sioux City North |
Hesse’s confidence and range are what stood out when I watched him the most. He has a quick trigger allowing him to get his shot off whenever he wants. He is a bigger guard who can post up down on the block. He has good speed with the ball, allowing him to get out in transition. Keep an eye on him to rise up the rankings and make some noise on the recruiting trail.
