Let’s take a look at a few players that we feel could have big time games and have the potential to put together big-time performances for their teams.
Kinston HS Wing Jeremy Dixon is already signed to play at WSSU so don’t be surprised to see some Ram fans drop in to check him out on Monday. He’s a gifted scorer with size and athletic ability that allows him to make a nice number of plays on both ends of the floor. We fully expect him to be able to make an early impact in the CIAA which should only help WSSU to make another title run.
Kings Mountain Guard Zeke Cannedy put together one of the best seasons of any player in the state, averaging over 33 Points per game and just under 900 total points for the season. He has good end to end speed, understands how to create space to get his shot off and uses his outstanding defense to force turnovers which allows them to get out into transition.
Pine Forest HS Guard Tristin Harkins is headed to Fayetteville State next season, and it doesn’t take long to see why the Broncos are excited about his potential. He has an outstanding IQ for the game, is a gifted passer, can knock down shots from beyond college range and is all about doing whatever it takes for the team to win.
North Mecklenburg Guard Davion Cunningham is a very athletic Guard that makes a high impact on both ends of the court and knows how to win games. His midrange game is very impressive, he gets good lift on his shot which allows him to shoot over players that may be taller than he is. Next season he will be taking his talents to UNCA which is a program that has the potentially to have a very good team over the next few years.
St.Pauls HS Guard Jeyvian Tatum is one of the top unsigned players that will be in the building and has put together an outstanding career, being named Conference Player of the Year multiple times. His ability to score on multiple levels as well as facilitating are just a few of the reasons why we feel he can be a nice asset to a college program.
