Continue ReadingArguably my favor article to write from the Nike Summer Championships last weekend was the 2026 piece. Many of these guys have not been known before this tournament and the event allowed the first real opportunity to be seen. The article focuses on All Ohio Red and Ohio Buckets who were the only teams I watched.
Jordan Bowens All Ohio Red (Reynoldsburg)
Depending on who you ask, Bowens is considered the top prospect in the 2026 class. It’s wasy to believe and see that if you watch him play. Already having good size at 6’5-6’6, Bowens has a very mature style of play and has good skillset already on him. His biggest adjustment will be matching the physicality Varsity basketball will bring.
Brody Hatfield All Ohio Red (Big Walnut)
Hatfield was all over the floor and brought plenty of energy from the tip for Red. Hustles all over the floor and willing to dive on the floor for 50/50 balls. Active defender that can keep his guy in front of him as well as body up defenders on the perimeter.
Allen Horton Ohio Buckets (Northview)
Horton has great size already for an incoming freshman and stands around 6’6. Showed elite finishing around the rim, including several buckets on previously mentioned Jordan Bowens. Horton had confidence to use either hands at the rim and gets squared. With the talent lost from Northview’s group a season ago, Horton could step into a reserve role as a freshman.
Mack Hieber Ohio Buckets (Patrick Henry)
Hieber brought some stretch 4 potential with his longer body along with play on the perimeter. Keeps ball active in his hands and gets to the rim in a hurry. Finished at a high clip and showed he could make shots through contact.
Others to Note: All Ohio Red- Darius Adams (Walnut Ridge) and Levi Davis (Olentangy Orange) Ohio Buckets- Owen Graves (Marysville0
