These guys have been turning some heads with their aggressive play on both ends of the court. Be on the lookout for their stock to continue to rise over the July Live Period!
Hayes Waddy 2024 6’4 Alamo Heights High School (AD Elite)
Hayes is an athletic wing prospect who is not afraid to do all of the little things on the perimeter to make his team successful. He is not afraid to defend the best player on the other side, and quickly moves his feet and uses his long arms to harass his opponent on the ball. He was good at staying vertical and blocking shots in the paint but also on the perimeter. He has active hands that have a knack for poking the ball free, and he loves running in transition after stealing the ball. He is an aware playmaker when he needs to be, constantly making the right reads to set up his teammates. Another strong aspect of his game had to be his ability to catch bad passes, and quickly put it on the floor and attack the basket. I would like to see him work on his consistency from the outside and speeding up his release on catch and shoot opportunities.
Christian Umana 2024 6’5 Clear Creek High School (Team Imperial Drew)
Christian is an aware player with and without the basketball, constantly in motion and looking to manipulate the defense with his eyes and willingness to cut and attack the basket. I was very impressed with how well he handled the ball, breaking down his opponent time and time again to create space and drive to the rim. He possesses high level footwork, and he uses smart jab steps and steps through intense on ball pressure to get around his opponent. I was very impressed with how well he was able to attack the basket, even when catching the ball feet beyond the arc. He showed an ability to consistently finish through contact down low, and really was a reliable option every time he found space in the paint. He has good athleticism which allows him to go up strong and finish above defenders as well. I loved watching him relentlessly attack the basket, even against stronger and older opponents.
Jayden Thomas 2024 6’5 Lake Travis High School (Austin Unbreakable)
Jayden is an impressive wing prospect who truly has the ability to play outside in, or inside out depending on the match-up or what his team needs in that situation. I was blown away with his motor and how well he affected the game. He has the necessary athleticism to jump as many times necessary to defend the rim or control a rebound. I love seeing that athleticism in young wing prospects who are normally forced to play a big man role. He is a quick twitch athlete with how well he explodes vertically, and seems to jump his highest every time, no matter if it is on defense or a breakaway dunk. Thomas’s motor is a thing college coaches dream of, be sure to jump on this guy quickly coaches! I would like to see him continue to work on developing his handle and affecting the game out of the triple threat. He has all of the athletic tools to beat anyone in front of him off the bounce, he is an explosive and quick athlete.
Josiah Moseley Josiah Moseley 6'7" | SF Stony Point | 2024 State #96 Nation TX 2024 6’6 Stony Point High School (ATX Future 17U)
Josiah is an athletic freak with his ability to handle the ball and go coast to coast, but also naturally dominate on the interior. His rim protection allows him to anchor his team’s defense and allows his teammates to defend the perimeter and close out even harder knowing Moseley is back there to clean it up. He destroyed opponents spirits with his ability to tip away shots and collect rebounds. However, the most intriguing aspect to his game has to be his handle and the way he moves. He routinely got up and down the court with a live dribble, and got deep into the paint and made his opponents helpless down low. He showed an ability to move his opponents off of their spot when operating with his back to the basket as well! Moseley has all the tools to become an effective wing/ forward prospect at the next level.
Ahmad Abualneel 2024 6’4 Plano East High School, TX (Hard Hoops 2024)
Ahmad is a sharp shooting wing with an ability to punish the defense from all three levels of the floor. He is great at using his frame to get into the defense and finish with a soft touch displaying a floater and runner, as well as a nice one to two dribble pull up. His ability to score off the bounce from beyond the arc was very impressive, and he has supreme confidence in his shot from anywhere on the floor. His scoring prowess forced the defense to focus on him, and he calmly made the right decisions and created offense for his teammates. He has continued shooting the ball at a high level, showing off the fact that any offense can be run through his shot making ability. I was very impressed with his all around feel for the game and his ability to affect the game on the defensive end of the ball. Abualneel is a name you must become familiar with.
