Brawl For The Ball: Standout AZ 17U Players

This past weekend I attended the Brawl for the Ball which is a part of the Prep Hoops Circuit.   I focused my attention to the local players and here are some of the 17U standouts:   [player_tooltip player_id="1340752" first="Alex" last="Wells"] (Taylor Made Elite 17U) Solid all around guard showed his offensive package this weekend. He has a good touch and showed some craftiness while getting to the lane. [player_tooltip player_id="1160999" first="Devin" last="Miller"] Desert Ridge (Team RHJ 17U) Strong sturdy wing guard is tough to handle because he handles it like a guard but is strong like a forward. Every time I saw him he pretty much got wherever he wanted to when he wanted to. [player_tooltip player_id="1275428" first="Zander" last="Kamai"] Paradise Honors (AZ Firestorm 17U) Zander played with a smooth pace the whole weekend. He was running the show very effectively while keeping himself involved offensively. [player_tooltip player_id="1284853" first="Travis" last="Torain"] Dream City Christian (AZ Unity 16U EYBL) (Featured Image) The smooth wing led Unity to an undefeated weekend. He was efficient the whole weekend hitting an array of shots and defending any position. [player_tooltip player_id="1393223" first="Adam" last="Chaffin"] Fairfax (PAL Elite 2023) The young wing played up in 17U and more than held his own. He didn’t shy away from contact and in a lot of cases initiated it. When guarded by bigger players he brought them out to the three point line where he showed a nice touch [player_tooltip player_id="1453527" first="Dominick" last="Tarrant"] Desert Edge (Team REAL 2023) The wing showed good court awareness and a good touch from the outside. He didn’t force anything rather he was letting the shots come to him.

Alex Wells Alex Wells 6'3" | SG Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State AZ (Taylor Made Elite 17U)

Solid all around guard showed his offensive package this weekend. He has a good touch and showed some craftiness while getting to the lane.

Devin Miller Devin Miller 6'1" | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State AZ Desert Ridge (Team RHJ 17U)

Strong sturdy wing guard is tough to handle because he handles it like a guard but is strong like a forward. Every time I saw him he pretty much got wherever he wanted to when he wanted to.

Zander Kamai Zander Kamai 6'3" | CG Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2024 State AZ Paradise Honors (AZ Firestorm 17U)

Zander played with a smooth pace the whole weekend. He was running the show very effectively while keeping himself involved offensively.

Travis Torain Travis Torain 6'7" | SF Dream City Christian | 2024 State #173 Nation AZ Dream City Christian (AZ Unity 16U EYBL) (Featured Image)
