I had a chance to witness some really good ball this weekend and was really impressed by some of the talent I saw. Here are my New Kids On The Block and players that either jumped onto our radar, or boosted their stock with their play.
Sean Morton Sean Morton 6'0" | SG ThunderRidge | 2026 CO G 5’10” C.H.A Hoops 2025
Morton showed a lot this weekend at Brawl for the Ball. He is a player who has a good mid-range game and can fill it up from deep as well which made him a difficult player to cover. His handle is good enough to get where he wants on the floor to get his shot or find the open teammate. He has to put more effort on the defensive end to round his game out but is a player with plenty of intangibles.
Charles Cobbs Charles Cobbs 6'1" | PG Chandler | 2025 State AZ G 5’10” AZ Gremlins 2025
Cobbs was locked in on day two of Brawl for the Ball. The potential has started to turn into production. His jump shot was falling which started opening up driving lanes that he used to finish at the rim through contact. A capable defender and can guard every position on the perimeter. Must extend the range on his jumper to take his game to the next level.
Quincy Johnson PG 5’8” IE Fire Elite 2025
Elite on-ball defender from baseline to baseline and now his offensive game is starting to expand as well. Has started to knock down the short pull-up jumper more consistently and has increased his range beyond the three-point line. His decision-making was on another level this weekend, seemed to make all the right plays. Johnson’s improvement only makes an already IE Fire Elite squad more dangerous.
Parker Henderson C 6’9” D1 New Mexico 2025
The big fella really impressed me this weekend with how well he played. Much improved on the offensive end showing soft hands, good footwork and the ability to finish through contact. Henderson used his wide frame to dominate smaller defenders and rebounded well from his position and on the weak side. Still young and still raw but there’s no denying the strides he’s made as a player. As he matures and continues to get better he and Zane Gaul Zane Gaul 6'10" | C Prescott | 2025 State AZ are gonna give opposing coaches nightmares.
Uriah Tenette Uriah Tenette 5'10" | PG Prescott | 2025 State AZ (In set) CG 5’9” D1 New Mexico 2025
This kid is a player! A three-level scorer with a slick handle and a sweet shooting stroke. Has the ability to take over games on the offensive end. He rebounds well for a guard and is a pest on the defensive end. Plays with a good change of pace that keeps defenders off balance and has the vision to find open teammates off of his penetration. Tenette loves the big lights and gets better when the pressures on.
