Teams have been busy playing in weekly leagues, hitting up college team camps, and playing in showcase events. However, while we have been providing wall-to-wall coverage of many scholastic events throughout this month, we also want to still give some shine to our Prep Hoops Circuit. In this series that has run over the next few weeks we will continue to take a look back at our circuit, specifically in the Grit Region, to highlight the top collegiate prospects in the Prep Hoops Grit Region. First, make sure you have seen Part One and Part Two of this series for the Class of 2023 and Part One for the Class of 2024.
Logan Golle (Taylor Allderdice H.S. 2024/Pittsburgh Pioneer Elite 2024): Golle first jumped onto our radar with his play at the Chi-Town Tip-Off. He is a playmaking guard that can score it all over the floor and create scoring opportunities for his teammates. 6’1″ guard with plus length and excellent shooting ability. He knocks down pull-ups consistently and is a very good three-point shooter. One to keep an eye on coming out of Pennsylvania.
Matthew King Matthew King 6'3" | SG Bosco Institute | 2024 IN (Hammond Central H.S. 2024/EG10 2024): EG10 has been one of the best 16u teams on the Prep Hoops Circuit throughout the spring. A big reason for their strong play has been this 6’3″ athletic wing. King is excellent in transition, can drive it from the wings, and is a great finisher up at the rim. He has developed into one of the better two-way guard prospects in the Grit Region.
Luke Kinkade Luke Kinkade 6'3" | PG Neuqua Valley | 2024 State IL (Neuqua Valley H.S. 2024/Basketball Paradise 2024): This 6’1″ left-handed guard is a super smooth scorer from the perimeter. He is an excellent outside shooter, can create his own shot off of the bounce, and finishes well at the end of his drives. Kinkade is a pure scorer in the backcourt that has had a great spring and summer. Expect to hear more from him in July.
Tyler Parrish Tyler Parrish 6'3" | SG Chesterton | 2024 State IN (Chesterton H.S. 2024/Team GRIII Elite 2024): Earlier this month we named Parrish as the best Class of 2024 shooter in the Grit Region. He has continued to live up to that moniker through the June high school period as the primary piece in Chesterton’s backcourt. Parrish has also flashed more and more ability to be a playmaker off of the dribble which will help to expand his offensive game.
Layne Risdon Layne Risdon 6'9" | C Zeeland East | 2024 State MI (Zeeland East H.S. 2024/West Michigan Lakers 2024): You can’t teach size and at 6’9″ Risdon is one of the taller prospects at the 16u level on the Prep Hoops Grit Region Circuit. Risdon is a good rim protector, finishes well around the basket, and rebounds his area.
