Juan Cranford Jr, 6’3 SG Huber Heights Wayne 2024: Cranford is a bigger bodied wing guard who uses his strength to push off defenders when attacking the basket. When Cranford is attacking with his left hand, he’s tough to stop because he can lower his shoulder and get space to shoot around the basket. Cranford is also a good outside shooter, making him a tough cover offensively. I expect Cranford to be heavily recruited by Division II programs starting next spring.
Mason Shrout Mason Shrout 6'4" | SF Preble Shawnee | 2024 State OH , 6’4 SF Preble Shawnee 2024: Shrout was the highest ranked 2024 prospect without a Division I offer heading into the weekend, that’s no longer the case as his impressive play earned him offers to Wright State and Toledo. Shrout is a very talented scorer who plays more of an on-ball creation role with Preble Shawnee compared to a complimentary role with All Ohio Red where he catches and shoots plus attacks closeouts. You see a lot of the scoring moves that he utilizes on the EYBL circuit with Preble Shawnee as he’s being quicker and more decisive with the ball in his hands. Shrout is great at pivoting and using pump fakes to get eager defenders off balance when guarding him. I also noticed Shrout’s strength as more of an advantage at the high school level, as he was efficient finishing through contact.
Logan Hawley Logan Hawley 6'8" | C Preble Shawnee | 2024 State OH , 6’5 C Preble Shawnee 2024: Hawley is a new name as he opened the game with a dunk that showed off his athleticism. Throughout the game Hawley rebounded the ball at a high level and his motor was impressive. With some more offensive development, I could see Hawley potentially being a small college prospect.
Andrea Holden Andrea Holden 6'5" | C Hamilton | 2024 State OH , 6’5 C Hamilton 2024: Holden stands out physically as a prospect who has some clear physical upside. Holden has a great frame at 6’5 that allows him to grab loose balls and set tough screens. Hamilton was overmatched in the game I watched from a skill perspective, but Holden was physically at an advantage against his opposition. Hamilton graduated big Sage Tolentio and lost Breeon Ishmail to Princeton, Holden is ready to step in as the main interior presence for the Big Blue.
