PH NorCal wraps up the final day of competition on Sunday at Modesto Christian. The title game between Jesuit of Carmichael, and St. Joseph of Santa Maria, CA. The only team from SoCal to play in this event. The final game featured two big time players well known on the West Coast, and beyond at this point. Super Frosh Tounde Yessoufou 6’5 Forward, and [player_tooltip player_id="1232327" first="Andrej" last="Stojakovic"] 6’7 Guard. They did what big time players do perform at a high level. Here’s our NorCal standouts from Sunday.

[player_tooltip player_id="1320959" first="Kevin" last="King"] 6’2 2023 SG of Enochs HS, Modesto, CA.

The athletic King is the go to guy on this team. He’s comfortable showing off his scoring abilities on a team that gives him the green light. He makes it look easy at times. He has good shot selection, he goes by defenders either way on the initial attack, while finishing with either hand at the rim. He hit step backs from 3 and mid-range. He’s on Wright’s Watch List.

[player_tooltip player_id="1384823" first="Jaden" last="Spears"] 6’5 2025 Wing/Forward of Sheldon HS, Sacramento, CA

Spears is long and still growing. He showed us he can do multiple things on the court. The 2025 has an improving skill set. He moves well, has decent handles, and had good passing in half-court and transition. He’ll get stronger, nonetheless his length and effort defending in the post was noticed. He can score around the basket, run the court. He’s on Wright’s Watch List.

[player_tooltip player_id="1384450" first="Darrion" last="Lilly"] 6’4 2025 F, of Weston Ranch HS, Stockton, CA.

Lilly showed some toughness working in and around the basket on Sunday. He goes up strong off two feet in the paint finishing through contact. His effort going after rebounds, with good outlet passes was good. He has an improving game in the paint. He found ways to finish around the rim, a reverse lay-up and a paint jumper.

Kendahl Hearne 6’3 2024 W/G of Sacramento HS, Sacramento, CA.

He’s a hard working prospect that’s starting to gain some traction with his toughness and his hard play on the court. He’s athletic with good hops trying to throw down dunks with force from different angles, he did throw a few. He has an improving set of handles that helps him get his own shots. He works the baseline pretty well and runs in transition looking to finish with strong dunks. He’ll defend hard.

[player_tooltip player_id="1255921" first="AJ" last="Harris"] 6’5 2023 Guard/Forward of Piedmont HS, Piedmont, CA.

Harris scored in every way possible in a highly entertaining contest on Sunday. He scored the first 16pts for his team, mixing in long range 3’s from way behind the line (6 or 7 for the game). When they doubled up on him he went to work in the post showing excellent footwork, strength to finish with and 1’s. He makes free throws too. He finished this game with 53pts and is a rising player in NorCal.

[player_tooltip player_id="1124080" first="Tyler" last="Jones"] 6’2 2024 Guard of Archbishop Mitty HS, San Jose, CA.

Jones was impressive throughout this event. He knows it’s all about consistency. He’s a rising player in the 2024 class. He brings a good work ethic to the court all the time. He’s underrated as a defender, he reads and understands what happening before the play develops. He busted several plays that way. He showed new strength and aggressiveness forcing his way into the paint using the jump stop, playing off two feet, giving himself options to kick-out, dump off or take it up. He hit some 3’s and mid-range jumpers along the way.

[player_tooltip player_id="1384425" first="Jalen" last="Stokes"] 6’4 2025 Wing/Forward, Dublin HS, Dublin, CA.

Stokes was aggressive looking for his scoring opportunities, he’ll shoot his shot. He attacks well from the perimeter, in transition, and along the baseline. He plays good defense on the perimeter. He showed some toughness working for rebounds getting banged, and finishing for put-back points. He has an improving skill set and he gives good effort.

[player_tooltip player_id="1256579" first="Will" last="Jenkins"] 6’2 2024 Guard of Jesuit HS, Carmichael, CA.

Jenkins has a good set of offensive skills he uses in transition and in half-court. He’s looks most effective in a fast pace game where can aggressively look for his scoring opportunities, using strong takes to the basket, pull-up jumpers, and floaters, and transition 3’s. He’s an excellent passer, and will give good effort defending his opponent. He’s on the Wright’s Watch List.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380766" first="Sterling" last="McClanahan"] 6’3 2023 Guard of Vanden HS, Fairfield, CA.

A good all-around athletic player who showed strength, movement, and toughness. When he gets it going he’s kind of hard to guard. At 6’3 he has bounce, and quick reactions going after rebounds and put backs, he had several tip-ins. He plays well around the rim. On the drive he gets it high off the glass, he dropped a couple of 3’s. We’ll see more of him.

[player_tooltip player_id="1406723" first="Jake" last="Fields"] 6’3 2023 SG of Monte Vista HS, Danville, CA.

He’s a heady prospect that can knock down 3’s if you don’t guard him. He’s not fast, but moves with a purpose, and is looking to convert by way of drives, mid-range jumper, and long 3’s. The lefty has a good stop, and go move to freeze defenders, he turns the corner well, and has good vision, and passing to spot players with a better shot than him. He has a good feel for the game. He’s on the Watch List.
