The Philly High School Live sessions have become one of the most anticipated events of the annual June live recruiting period. Organized by John Mosco (Archbishop Wood Head Coach) and Andre Noble (Imhotep Charter Head Coach), Philly HS Live (Session I) will once again feature a field that is absolutely loaded with talented prospects.

Below is a preview of six “must-see” games on Friday’s Philly HS Live (Session I) schedule at Jefferson University that feature prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania.

SLA Beeber vs. Neshaminy: This contest is a must-see opening day matchup as it will feature two of the spring circuit’s breakout guard prospects. SLA combo guard Maki Pettigrew (2023 / SK Elite) will go mono-y-mono with Neshaminy’s Nathan Townsend (2024 / Mt. Pleasant Bulldogs). Both have DI potential, and the highlights from this showdown should be Instagram worthy. 2:20PM on Court 1.

St. Joseph’s Prep vs. Imani Christian: An extremely deep and talented SJP roster is led by the high-level backcourt tandem of floor general [player_tooltip player_id="1188621" first="Olin" last="Chamberlain"] and combo guard [player_tooltip player_id="1197607" first="Jaron" last="McKie"]. These two will get plenty of support from interior beast [player_tooltip player_id="933048" first="Tristen" last="Guillouette"] and three level wing scorer [player_tooltip player_id="1281789" first="Luke" last="Brown"]. Imani Christian is a Pittsburgh area powerhouse that will bring highly ranked prospects like [player_tooltip player_id="1188606" first="Alier" last="Maluk"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1395953" first="Obadiah" last="Abdul"] to town this coming weekend. 5:50PM on Court 1.

Salesianum (DE) vs. Archbishop Wood: Wood lost two of its top three scoring options to graduation, but this group will be ready to compete because moving into the lead dog role is [player_tooltip player_id="1189096" first="Jalil" last="Bethea"], one of the elite 3-point shooters in the state. Interior force [player_tooltip player_id="1013075" first="Carson" last="Howard"] (2nd Team All-PCL) allows Wood to dominate the paint at both ends of the floor. Also, for Wood, keep an eye on scoring guard [player_tooltip player_id="1483181" first="Josh" last="Reed"]. He is coming off a tremendous spring circuit for Philly Revolution which produced a significant rise for him in our updated Class of 2024 rankings. 7:00PM on Court 3.

Father Judge vs. Downingtown West: Thanks to a bevy of skilled prospects who return for 2021-22, Father Judge is a squad on the verge of a breakout. Four starters -- wings [player_tooltip player_id="1472593" first="Ernest" last="Shelton"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1123891" first="Laquan" last="Byrd"] as well as point guard [player_tooltip player_id="1197608" first="Kevair" last="Kennedy"] and leading scorer Kyle Jones (15 ppg.) – are all back this summer. D-West also returns several impressive prospects that will challenge Judge’s lineup. Lead guard [player_tooltip player_id="1116019" first="Dylan" last="Blair"] is one of the top backcourt prospects in the region. [player_tooltip player_id="1379429" first="Donovan" last="Fromhartz"] is a multi-skilled stretch-4 style big man. Plus, 6’10” [player_tooltip player_id="1279644" first="Jake" last="Warren"] is a high-level center prospect. 7:00PM on Court 4.

Devon Prep vs. Lower Merion: This will be an intriguing matchup as it features two squads moving into new eras after losing program defining players to graduation. At Devon Prep, wing [player_tooltip player_id="1116055" first="Lucas" last="Orchard"] and small forward [player_tooltip player_id="1178095" first="Jacen" last="Holloway"] will step into the lead offensive role vacated by Argel Pettit. LM will rely on a trio of guards in [player_tooltip player_id="991391" first="Sam" last="Brown"], [player_tooltip player_id="1382972" first="Justin" last="Poles"], and [player_tooltip player_id="1472576" first="Sam" last="Wright"] to replace the scoring void Demetrius Lilley’s (Penn State) departure created. 8:10PM on Court 1.

Neumann-Goretti vs. Camden (NJ): This contest needs little introduction. The reigning Pennsylvania 5A state champions, Neumann-Goretti, featuring supremely talented guard [player_tooltip player_id="1116063" first="Robert" last="Wright III"] (PIAA 5A POY) square off with current New Jersey Group 2 state champion and TOC finalist, Camden. As you know, Camden’s roster boasts all world guard DJ Wagner (two-time Gatorade New Jersey POY). 8:10PM on Court 3.
