Let’s be clear: this is the greatest live period event in the country. National prospects from private and public schools across multiple states, college coaches, and local fans. *chefs kiss* With 4 games going on at any given time, it was impossible to catch everything. So here are players who caught my eye during the games I did see.

Haron Morgan | 6’1 G ‘23 Mastery North (PA)

Coming up just short against Haverford High School, Morgan kept his team in the game with a chance to win late. He skillfully bent the defense and found teammates for lay ups. Haron also knocked down three triples, finishing with 17 points.

Jaden Rogers | 6’3 G ‘23 Middletown (DE)

Rogers had a calculated performance in the win over Holy Ghost Prep. A traditional two guard, created efficient offense for himself. He used his creative handle to get into the paint for layups and to get to his jumper (15 points). To top it off, Jaden also made some nice reads to create scoring opportunities for others.

Mel Lindsey | 6’7 F ‘23 Holy Ghost Prep (PA)

HGP made a valiant effort and Mel was a big part of that. He was tremendous stretching the floor, cashing in three catch & shoot threes (11 points total). Doing a lot of his damage from the top of the arc, he showed some passing chops too. Defensively, he deterred drives as a strong-side rim protector.

[player_tooltip player_id="1116025" first="Touari" last="“Deuce” Ketner"] | 6’6 F ‘24 Bonner-Prendie (PA)

Deuce had a light scoring output with 8 points. Known more for his face up game, his skill as a passer flashed multiple times. When the defense closed out hard or doubled, he hit cutters and dumbed it down in the post. And, of course, the athleticism popped with a couple dunks and a couple blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id="991339" first="Rahmir" last="Barno"] | 6’0 G ‘23 Imhotep (PA)

With Bergen Catholic going zone for the majority of the game, the driving lanes weren’t there for Barno. But when the Panthers forced turnovers, he treated them like punt returns and tilted the floor by getting to the rim with a quickness. Rahmir scored 11 points and Rider then recognized his performance with a scholarship offer right after.

[player_tooltip player_id="1188606" first="Alier" last="Maluk"] | 6’11 F/C ‘25 Imani Christian (PA)

The kid was as advertised. His team was overmatched, but Alier had a solid outing. Versus Guillouette from St. Joe’s, he showed fluid movement skills and the ability to angle his body on the way to soft finishes. Maluk scored 12 points in the lone game of Day 1.

[player_tooltip player_id="1186043" first="Nayeem" last="Johnson"] | 6’2 G ‘24 Math, Civics, & Sciences (PA)

MCS got down early, losing by as many as 21 points. But Nayeem led them back, scoring 12 of his 20 points in the second half, fall short by just six. Johnson used his broad shoulders to power through defenders on his way to the rim and he shot well from deep (2 threes).

[player_tooltip player_id="1189096" first="Jalil" last="Bethea"] | 6’4 G ‘24 Archbishop Wood (PA)

Wood was able to take the air out of the Salesianum game and 18 first half points (21 total) by Bethea was the main reason why. He hit four bombs from beyond NBA range using some new tools in his arsenal. Jalil created space using DHOs, pitch-backs, and stepbacks. He’s definitely in for a big year.

[player_tooltip player_id="1213553" first="Thomas" last="Sorber"] | 6’9 C ‘24 Archbishop Ryan (PA)

Camden was ready to run away with it from the tipoff, but Thomas kept them in it until late. The highlight of his performance was the three point shooting. Sorber made three of them, two of which were on turn-around face-ups. Thomas finished with 24 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="992524" first="Aaron" last="Bradshaw"] | 7’0 C ‘23 Camden (NJ)

It’s easy to underappreciate the other parts of Camden’s roster with DJ Wagner there, who scored a humble 22 points. But Aaron was overwhelming all game. Bradshaw bothered Sorber & Archbishop Ryan with his length, blocking three shots and altering several more. On the other end, he put up 20 points on grimy lobs and putbacks. Bradshaw is not one to sleep on.

Other Eye Catchers

[player_tooltip player_id="1187956" first="Aasim" last="Burton"] | 6’2 G ’24 Cardinal O’Hara (PA)

[player_tooltip player_id="1050396" first="Terry" last="Copeland"] | 6’8 C ’24 Bergen Catholic (NJ)

[player_tooltip player_id="991341" first="Justin" last="Edwards"] | 6’7 ’23 Imhotep (PA)

[player_tooltip player_id="933048" first="Tristen" last="Guillouette"] | 6’9 C St. Joe’s Prep (PA)

[player_tooltip player_id="902740" first="Dasear" last="Haskins"] | 6’8 F ’23 Camden NJ)

[player_tooltip player_id="991423" first="Jamal" last="Hicks"] | 6’0 G ’24 Bonner-Prendie (PA)

Isaiah Hynson | 6’4 G ’24 Salesianum (DE)

[player_tooltip player_id="850757" first="Cian" last="Medley"] | 6’0 G ’23 Camden (NJ)

[player_tooltip player_id="1483181" first="Josh" last="Reed"] | 6’3 G ’24 Archbishop Wood (PA)

Follow @CGraham_Sports & @PhillyHSLive for more coverage
