The University of Oregon kicked off its team camp on Friday and we had the opportunity to take in games deep in the woods at Matthew Knight Arena. Here’s a look at some the top performers from the evening session.

[player_tooltip player_id="1256719" first="Brandon" last="Bomberger"] G 5’9" McMinnville 2023

The senior leader for the Grizzlies used a number of impressive moves to create offense for himself on Friday evening. He showed that he can really shoot it and will be a force to watch out for in the Pacific Conference.

[player_tooltip player_id="1495714" first="Izzy" last="Golden"] PG 6’0" Ashland 2023

The Grizzlies were one of the top teams on night one and Golden was big part of that showing. He sets the table for a talented group of shooters and playmakers. His numbers might not jump off the page but he is the glue that really keeps this team together and rolling. Look for big things from Golden in the Midwestern league and at the 5A level this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1493980" first="Evan" last="Manville"] (2023 Union)

The 6’7" Titan wing can flat out shoot it for Blake Conley’s squad. He was pivotal in a comeback for Union as they stormed back against a strong Ashland team. He had five triples and was hitting shots with a defender glued to him. Manville also was big on the defensive end and took a charge that was a turning point in the game. The highlight of the night for Manville was a tough step back three with less than a minute left to keep his team in the game. Check out Manville this AAU season with the Oregon Prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id="1310064" first="Egan" last="Shields"] (2023 Ashland)

The top rated Center in Oregon showed why on Friday evening with a number of big dunks and blocked shots. He showed a nice looking stroke from the midrange as well as some nifty footwork on the block. His most impressive play was a steal and dunk to keep the momentum rolling against a good Union team. Look for Shields this July as he plays with West Coast Elite UAA.

[player_tooltip player_id="1495722" first="Owen" last="Wark"] G 6’1" McMinnville 2024

Wark is a part of a solid Grizzly backcourt. He showed the ability to use some crafty hesitation moves to get to the paint. He has a solid body and uses it well to create for himself and his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id="1495713" first="Silas" last="Wright"] W 6’6" Ashland 2023

Wright really stepped up and lead the Grizzlies to a night one victory over a really good Union team. The wing is really long and uses his length to his advantage on the defensive end. He is physical and plays hard on ball defense. He shot the ball really well and has a beautiful release point on his jumper. Wright could be a force this year in the Midwestern League.
