Day 2 of the Mid-Atlantic Independent School Shootout was full of entertainment with prospects having big games in front of coaches. Here are the standouts from the second day of the Mid-Atlantic Independent School Shootout.

[player_tooltip player_id="901957" first="Jayden" last="Lemond"] & [player_tooltip player_id="1013073" first="Carnegie" last="Johnson"], PG Blair Academy 2023

Lemond and Johnson had big days for the Buccaneers with each player leaving their marks on a different game. In game 1, Lemond took control of the offense early as he was not sped up by the opponent and made good decisions with the ball in his hands. Johnson was assertive in game 2 as he was aggressive attacking the basket and played with poise throughout the game. Both players have the ability to run the offense but can also play without the ball. Lemond and Johnson are an exciting 2023 backcourt tandem who made noise this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="1472594" first="Bobby" last="Rosenberger"], 6’5 SG Perkiomen 2023

Rosenberger had a strong day as he showed his ability to impact the offense in a variety of ways. The 6’5 lefty shot the ball with confidence from distance as he knocked in several jumpers from behind the arc. Rosenberger did more than just shoot as he also showed his ability to finish around the rim with a nice dunk in traffic. He moved well without the ball in his hands and set his feet before every shot. Rosenberger’s stock will continue to go up if he has more games like he had today.

[player_tooltip player_id="1400487" first="Ladji" last="Dembele"], 6’8 PF St. Benedict’s 2023

Dembele carried the load for the Grey Bees on the interior as he was tasked with being the go-to guy in the offense. The 6’8 forward showed a nice touch on his jump hook around the basket and was able to finish through contact. Dembele was able to seal his man down low and also stepped outside to knock down a jumper from the perimeter. He skied for rebounds on both ends of the floor and used his athleticism to alter shots around the basket. Dembele is a talented forward prospect who should see his recruitment rise with more performances like that.

[player_tooltip player_id="1269775" first="Ebrahim" last="Kaba"], 6’6 SF Peddie 2024

Kaba had a solid showing for the Falcons as he showed his ability to make plays on the perimeter. The 6’6 wing has a nice release on his jumper and shot the ball with confidence from behind the arc. Kaba rose up over smaller defenders and put the ball on the floor nicely. He did a nice job on the defensive end as he defended in the post and on the wing. Kaba’s combination of size and shooting is something that will help his game in a big way this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="933733" first="Darrien" last="Grady"], 5’9 PG Shipley School 2023

Grady might not be the biggest guard on the floor, but that did not stop him from having a strong day for the Shipley. The 5’9 guard was a marksman from deep as he made opponents pay for giving him space from distance and has a good shooting form. Grady used his handle and quickness effectively to create space from his defender and showed the ability to shoot off the dribble. He slid his feet well on the defensive end and made few mistakes with the ball in his hands. Grady’s ability to shoot either off the catch or dribble is something that will help him improve his offensive game in a big way this summer.

Other Prospects to Know:

[player_tooltip player_id="1411646" first="Ifaola" last="Tacko"], 6’11 C Patrick School 2025

Basil Lassiter, 6’6 SF Academy of the New Church 2024

Galand Okeugo & Roland Okeugo, 6’5 SF Kiski School 2023
