PG: Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH Midwest Basketball Club (Centerville)
Cupps played an exceptional Spring with great performances in Fort Wayne as well as Indianapolis at the 3SSB Session 1. Cupps has some of the best guard play I’ve seen in my career with poised playmaking and passing, combined with versatile scoring and leadership. Cupps is already heading to Indiana University and should have a fantastic senior year and Summer AAU.
SG: Dayjuan Anderson All Ohio Red (Ponitz)
Anderson came off the bench for Red and played well in multiple showings I watched him in. Anderson has added a lot of confidence to his game and can score in different ways. Combine with his bulldog mentality on defense and springy first few steps and you have a player very capable of making a D2 happy. Anderson has picked up some interest on the football field as a standout WR.
SF: Devin Royal Devin Royal 6'6" | PF Pickerington Central | 2023 State #49 Nation OH All Ohio Red (Pickerington Central)
In terms of growth in a season, Royal might have claimed this with some fantastic performances on the EYBL, Fort Wayne, and briefly at the Super 16. Royal has a powerful frame and has attracted the attention of multiple teams in the Big Ten. His strength, size advantage, and inside-out potential makes him a no-doubt HM prospect that has already received interest and offers from programs like Michigan State and Xavier.
PF: Chase Walker Chase Walker 6'8" | C St. Charles | 2023 State OH Nova Village (St. Charles)
This Summer has given me an opportunity to see Walker up front and personal. There has been no doubt he has evolved into one of the better known prospects in Ohio’s 2023 class. Walker brings a massive frame on the low post and size at 6-foot-9. Walker has shown a plethora of post moves to go along with stretched midrange shooting for Nova. He has seen his recruitment pick up with LM offers coming in including Boston University and Liberty.
C: Austin Parks Austin Parks 6'9" | C St. Mary's Memorial | 2023 State #166 Nation OH Ohio Buckets Turf (St. Mary’s Memorial)
The Ohio State commit has dominated for Ohio Buckets in a variety of tournaments so far this Spring. Parks is a true Center that has shown solid footwork, strong hands, and powerful upper body. Parks has shown some more confidence putting the ball on the floor and using the dribble to set himself up to score. I like Parks and his court presence which should serve him well in the Big Ten.
