These guys have really been turning heads over the last few months, if they are in your area you need to get out and see them this next season!
Evan Chatman Evan Chatman 6'8" | SF Harker Heights | 2023 State TX 2023 6’7 Harker Heights High School (ATX Lockdown 17U)
Evan is a high level wing/ undersized forward prospect with his ability to handle the ball and shoot off the bounce, but also naturally dominate the game on the interior. I was very impressed with his confidence in his shot making off the dribble from anywhere on the court. He knew he could shoot over the top of anyone whenever he gets to his spots on the floor. He can play out of the high post and run the dribble hand-off, he sets good hard screens to free up his lead guards. He is also not afraid to go coast to coast and attack the rim whenever he has an advantage. He is also a high level rebounder who routinely uses his athleticism to jump multiple times to end the possession. He routinely made the right outlet pass to set up his teammates after defensive rebounds.
Marcel Bryant 2023 6’7 Cedar Ridge High School (ASAK 17U Elite)
Marcel is a natural finisher in the paint, but is also a fluid athlete with his ability to handle the ball and threaten the defense from the perimeter. He is a knockdown shooter the catch from the corners and wings, allowing him to attack hard closeouts off the bounce. I was very impressed with how well he quickly got a shot up. He is a ferocious finisher when he gets a full head of steam and can take a bump from his opponents even as he is getting downhill. His ability to handle the ball even despite defensive pressure was very impressive. Bryant is a very impressive prospect who looks to have all the tools to translate over at the next level as a forward or as a 3 and D type wing.
David Alexander 2023 6’5 (Pflugerville) Hendrickson High School (ProSkills ATX Brown)
David is a natural slasher who is great at using his frame to bounce off defenders on his way to the rim. He never gets bumped off his path to the rim and is great at turning the corner on his opponents. His ability to explode out of the triple threat and get around his opponent was very impressive for his size. When he has his head set on finishing, he explodes in the paint finishing dunk after dunk within the half court and on the break. I was very impressed with how well he went coast to coast and the confidence he displayed with a live dribble. He is a strong wing prospect who has the ability to move laterally and should be able to naturally defend multiple positions. I would like to see him work on timing up steals and being a more disruptive force on the defensive end of the court. He has all the tools to become an effective two way player at the next level.
Declan Keeffe 2024 6’4 New Braunfels High School (AD Elite)
Declan is an aware player on both ends of the court who seems to be reading the game at a very high level. His frame allows him to affect the game in a plethora of ways, especially on the defensive end of the court. He has the ability to play big if necessary and defend multiple positions. On the offensive end of the court he is a comfortable scorer in the corners and can quickly get his shot up to punish the defense for a weak closeout. I loved how willing he was to fight on the offensive glass, getting multiple boards and tip ins for his teammates but also tipping the ball out to his teammates on the outside. He looks to have all of the tools to become an effective 3 and D type prospect at the next level.
Tiki Morin 2023 6’4 (Round Rock) Stony Point High School (ProSkills ATX Brown)
Tiki is a smooth scorer across all three levels of the floor. I was very impressed with how well he scored with his back to the basket, fading away and creating space even whenever he was planted. His ability to score out of the triple threat was very impressive and he naturally slowed the game down, and then quickly exploded to his spot, keeping his opponents off balance. With a live dribble he showed an ability to get to his spots as well, beyond the arc and especially in the mid-range. He took what the defense gave him every time down the floor. I was very impressed with how well he naturally scored across all three levels. I would like to see him work on his ability to get into the paint and finish with more consistency over bigger defenders.
