RYZE Live Showcase III: Frontcourt Standouts

2023 6-5 PF [player_tooltip player_id="1049240" first="Jakenes" last="Heard"] – ENG United – Model
Defense and energy are calling cards of [player_tooltip player_id="1049240" first="Jakenes" last="Heard"]’s game. He’s an active power forward that gets on the glass and protects the rim. Heard cleans up misses and has growing range, able to hit the corner three when left open. He’s a double-double threat off effort alone.

2023 6-4 W [player_tooltip player_id="1464285" first="Devin" last="Long"] – AC Georgia Select – Providence Christian
After seeing [player_tooltip player_id="1464285" first="Devin" last="Long"] play multiple times over the high school season, I knew what to expect on Saturday and he didn’t disappoint. Long is a hard playing swingman that does his best work in the paint. He’s an aggressive rebounder that snatches boards and can convert putbacks. He is a threat to shoot the corner three and has shown an ability to slash from the wing and do damage within 15-feet. His motor is consistent.

2024 6-6 F [player_tooltip player_id="1300737" first="JOAH" last="CHAPPELLE"] – Savannah Elite – Dutchtown
Playing down in 15U, Chappelle’s length and athleticism were hard to contend with. The wiry forward is an active rebounder that earns multiple chances on the glass. He’s capable of putting the ball on the floor and is a versatile defender that can guard 3-5.

2023 6-4 W Cole Smith – SEBA FCI Warriors – Allatoona
Cole Smith looks like a completely different player. He’s been in the weight room, evolving his body. Smith is strong on the perimeter and can help rebound inside. His calling card is his three-point shot. He likes one-dribble step-back threes and can pull-up off the bounce.

2024 6-5 W [player_tooltip player_id="1223238" first="John" last="McQueen"] – Game Elite Big 5 – Langston Hughes
An incredibly gifted athlete with another High Major build, McQueen is coming into his own. He averaged 23 points per game during the tournament, scoring from all different angles and levels. He creates off the dribble, hits the three and can muscle his man in the post. McQueen has the skill to back down his man from the wing and spin off him for fadeaway jumpers. McQueen’s stock is prime to explode.

2023 6-6 C [player_tooltip player_id="1464286" first="Charlie" last="Dew"] – D. Rivers Elite – Whitfield Academy
Dew is an old school throwback post. The southpaw rebounds physically and has quality post moves with his back to the basket. He is a good low block passer that will flip assists over his ear to cutting teammates.

2023 6-4 PF Amir Watkins – D. Rivers Elite – Salem
Amir does the dirty work inside. He’s a boulder in the paint, immovable when carving out space. He rebounds consistently and will convert opportunities around the rim. He does a great job using his bulk, sticking out his chest and walling up defensively, able to alter shots and take charges.
