About John
Expert Analysis
Kyle Sandy | Prep Hoops Scout
McQueen ends up at his third school following an injury plagued junior season at Langston Hughes. John has the versatility to score inside and out. With his strong frame, McQueen can take defenders into the post or score from the perimeter both with his mid-range jumper and ability to slash. McQueen brings multi-postional defensive toughness to McEachern.

made his return this summer after sitting most of his junior year with an injury. It didn’t take McQueen long to get back in his groove and remind us of the talent that he possesses. McQueen is a big, strong guard at 6’6 that has a tight handle on the rock and a smooth outside jumper. He provides a ton of positional versatility, able to run the point in some jumbo packages or play a forward position if you want to go small. He should play a vital role at McEachern this year and should see some LM/MM offers trickle in soon.

has burst right back onto the scene with an extremely impressive summer after sitting his junior year at Langston Hughes. McQueen has since relocated to McEachern where he’s gotten in with the AOT guys and the new setting has given life to his game. McQueen is a big wing that can handle the ball which allows for some jumbo lineups like we saw on Saturday. He was scoring it at a high level all weekend including a 30-point outing against Freebandz Elite, his points coming from all three levels. McQueen is definitely a must-see prospect at the coming live periods.

is officially back. He’s fully healthy and sporting a new McEachern jersey after sitting last year at Langston Hughes. McQueen’s looked great this month, playing a key role for McEachern and doing a little bit of everything. He’s got a solid 6’6 build to pair with a tight handle and some passing ability that caught my attention this weekend. With his size and versatility, McQueen can play inside or out which really helps McEachern when they’re missing the bigs. He’s a guy that college coaches will want to see in July with AOT.

transferred to McEachern this summer. He showed flashes of his upside, scoring at all three levels and defending inside and out over the course of two games in which he averaged 7.5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1.5 blocks. When McQueen is on, he’s got the strength to score at the rim, isolate from the mid-range and defend multiple positions.

explodes with college coaches. He’s got the prototypical build for a high-level swingman. McQueen has a smooth game, capable of scoring in multiple ways but his rebounding, attention to detail on defense and overall willingness to do the little things is what separates him from most.
