College Commitment: Ty Weiskind (2022 Churchill)

Coming off a solid season season with Churchill where he was a big part of the Lancers making it to the 5A state tournament, Ty Weiskind Ty Weiskind 6'4" | SF Churchill | 2022 State OR knew he wanted to play at the college level. An opportunity arose for the high-energy 6-foot-4, 175-pound guard to play college ball close to home and after checking off all the boxes, Weiskind decided to join the Bushnell program last month.

"I really loved the coaching staff and the players," Weiskind said. "They all had a really good vibe and being at a school Christian school it really made me feel at home."

Off the court, it was obviously a match for Weiskind. But on the court, he saw a great fit as well. "I love their up tempo play," Weiskind said. "It is very similar to Kelly Bokn’s style of play so I am excited to start playing with them."

Weiskind has always exhibited a high motor on both ends of the floor and is the type of guy that simply makes plays. He knows that things will be more challenging at the next level and he’s spending this off-season getting prepared.

"Just getting physically stronger and more athletic to keep up with guys a few years older than me," Weiskind said.

Weiskind currently ranks as the #49 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 rankings. Our congratulations go out to him and his family on his commitment.
