Some of the top talent we scouted all weekend came from this class and I can’t wait to continue to dive deeper into this talented class.
Brandon Roddy, 6’1 CG Harvest Prep 2025 – All Ohio Select 15 U: Roddy was dominant in the one game I caught of him this weekend. Whether it was attacking the basket, pulling up from 3-point range or throwing a dime to one of his teammates, Roddy was balling out. I was impressed with Roddy’s feel for the game as he seems very confident with the ball in his hands relative to most other prospects his age. Roddy seems to have taken a small step in the right direction with his outside shooting since the high school season as well, expecting a big Sophomore season for Roddy at Harvest Prep.
Mykell Murphy, 6’4 PF Pickerington North 2025 – All Ohio Select 15 U: Murphy played a little bit on Pickerington North as a freshman but this was my first real opportunity to see what Murphy could do. It was easy to see why Murphy was already playing varsity basketball as a freshman with his impressive frame with lots of strength. Murphy was active on the offensive glass all game and his motor got him a couple easy looks throughout the game.
Amare Spiva, 6’0 PG Pickerington Central 2025 – All Ohio Select 15 U: Spiva was the floor general for his squad as the quick guard got to the rim at will. Spiva made some good decisions with the ball in his hands in transition and the pair of Spiva and Roddy created a lot of steals for All Ohio Select. Spiva didn’t look to shoot much from the outside but did make an off the bounce 3-pointer near the end of the game I saw.
Ethan Stokes, 6’4 SF Oak Harbor 2025 – Ohio Buckets Horne: Stokes impressed me with his fluidity at 6’4 for such a young prospect. Stokes had multiple impressive dribble moves with the ball in his hands and made plays out of the triple threat. Stokes has a slim frame with the ability to add muscle easily. I was impressed with how often Stokes just seemed to find a way to make a play throughout the game. Small town prospect to keep your eyes on for sure.
Austin Niekamp, 6’7 PF Marion Local 2025 – Ohio Buckets Christie: Niekamp is one of two bigs on Marion Local I’m very intrigued by. ( Jack Knapke Jack Knapke 6'8" | C Marion Local | 2024 State OH is the other) Niekamp can really shoot the ball at 6’7 and moves pretty well for his size. That simple combination of skills puts him very high on my radar for 2025 prospects. Niekamp also grabbed a lot of rebounds and finished around the basket with his height advantage.
