The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Stop 3 is a big one, as the circuit pulls up in Kansas City for the NCAA Certified Prephoops Live Event. The event was home to several wing players and quality big men. In this article, a follow-up to Wings and Bigs Pt 2 we take a look at the top wing and bigs from the event.
Luke Wagstaff Luke Wagstaff 6'7" Fort Collins | 2023 CO 6’7 PF Team Daum 2023 (#45PHC 2023) – Came away impressed with Wagstaff this weekend. He has terrific hands and displayed them by catching and rebounding a number of balls in traffic. He’s a traditional post who can score with his back to the basket, and loves turning over his left shoulder to score.
Tyler Van Gorp 6’11 C Hoops4Health 2023 (#53PHI 2023) – Gorp is a space eater that used his size to deter opponents in the paint. He’s not the fastest rim runner, however, he’s dedicated to doing it. TVG, was one of the better rim protectors I saw, blocking and altering a handful of shots in the game I watched.
Nygle Williams 6’7 PF BTI 2022 (featured image) – Active high energy guy. The lefty played around the rim, getting tips and putbacks. He was willing to post up, however, I didn’t see him get a lot of direct post touches in the game I watched. The forward gets off the ground well and is willing to alter shots from driving opponents who enter the paint.
Zane Gaul Zane Gaul 6'10" | C Prescott | 2025 State AZ 6’10 C D1 New Mexico 2025 (#8PHA 2025) – Gaul did not finish well in the game I watched, however, he showed a ton of upside. His size is obvious, however he moves well, showing the ability to fluidly change ends off the floor. When he took his time, and was patient around the rim he showed decent footwork and a few nice turnaround jump hooks.
Ottabwa Dickson 6’6 C Iso Jo 2025 – Dickson was one of those players that made me stop and watch. He has long arms and moves well, but it was his activity that stood out for me. He aggressively rebounded in traffic and blocked a couple of shots in the game I watched. His upside is exciting, as the 6’7 forward has just finished his freshman season of high school.
Ben Johnson 6’5 PF Iowa Barnstormers 2025 – Only got a short glimpse of Johnson in the game I watched. He moved well for a young big, and he impacted the game with his activity and willingness to protect the rim.
Devin Ikeda 6’6 PF Iowa Barnstormers 2025 – Like Johnson, I only got a short glimpse of Ikeda. I liked his back-to-the-basket game. He scored a couple of times with jump hooks down low, showing decent footwork and a soft touch around the rim.
